I wonder if we'll ever be put into songs or tales. I wonder if people will ever say, 'Let's hear about the hobbits who saved the shire'. And they'll say 'Yes, that's one of my favourite stories. They was really courageous, wasn't they Dad?' 'Yes, my boy, among the most famousest of hobbits. And that's saying a lot.' Please join me as i share with you a beautiful immersive experience that takes you into Tolkien's middle earth. This is not merely a roleplaying game, this is a tale, a story, a chance to forge your own history in middle earth. We have read the novels, seen the films, but the story of the fellowship is only one tale among many, a few heroes among hundreds. You are one of those hundreds. How do i achieve such immersion? With Forge VTT and Roll20, Special effect addons, Syrinscape sound and sounds from the films i am able to bring the Shire fully to life. Along with voice acting and a deep knowledge of the setting. I view my GMing as a art form and this is my greatest masterpiece yet. I have been deeply into Tolkeins world since i was a child, like most folk, his work inspired me and got me into fantasy settings in general. I have enjoyed other settings but always find myself coming back to middle-earth. I have been a full time professional GM for over 2 years now, i run several games a week and have a consistent base. I have never sadly been able to run games in my favourite setting because there hasn't really been any good VTTs for the setting. However all that changed with The One Ring 2E. Not only does The One Ring 2E have a stable VTT on Forge it is also a amazing unique system that puts the narrative first, giving the GM all the tools he needs to run a amazing game. Not only this, the books are written by fans, you can tell the passion that's gone into the books and how well fleshed out it all is. My aim is to run through the adventures in the starter edition. Set in the Shire, the year is currently 2960 of the Third Age (or 1360 by Shire Reckoning). To put that into context its been 12 years since mad Bilbo Baggin's returned from his grand adventure. Another 58 years are to pass till his famous 111th year birthday and Frodo will be born in 8 years time. Bilbo, while retired still yearns for adventure, its no secret. Pouring over old maps and obsessing over one more grand adventure. Becoming more of a hermit as time moves on. He has sent you a letter of invitation to Bag End, his hobbit hole in Hobbiton, the Shire. He needs assistance with a delicate matter and you being a close or distant cousin of his means your trust worthy. Don't make your intentions of helping him known though, Hobbits do love to gossip and you don't want to be thrown into the same category as mad cousin Bilbo! Starting off as hobbits and unlocking more races as we go what starts off as a simple adventure in the Shire quickly turns into a grand adventure in itself. Lasting 5 sessions you will not be disappointed. Strolling through the shire, smoking your pipe, sharing stories and riddles. A LOTR fans dream! Hobbit weed and second breakfast included. COST This game will require payment to the Game Master at a rate of $30 via startplaying.games, per session. Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements.
