Hi my name is Sergey 22 years old and after watching several youtube videos of people using this site and the fun they where having I though I would give it a shot since I always wanted to get into tabletop but never had any people around to play with. I'm new to tabletop RPG's but I have played the video games of warhammer, D&D, vampire the masquerade, shadowrun, and star wars (knights of the old republic) so I kinda know the lore of those. So if there is a group that is willing to show me the ropes or at least direct me to good reading material so I can prepare for a campaign and put up with being a bit lost in the beginning as I learn, I would love to start playing as soon as possible. As the title said I'm in U.S CDT and can play after work from 4 PM to 11 PM weekdays, any time Saturday and after 2PM Sunday. I do have a mic but no camera.

Here is the link to the free online rules for pathfinder: http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/ . Now there are many views on what system is best to start off with. I'm of the view that the more simpler systems are the best to start with while there are others that feel pathfinder or 4e is better. It depends on the complexity of rules you wish to learn. I would stay if you want to start out fresh and new in this hobby of pen and paper gaming, take a look at 5e (latest edition of D&D), you can get the basic beginners rules for free: 5E Basic rules I like to play using the free system called Basic Fantasy Role-Playing System and there is a group here on roll20 that is for playing one shots and teaching beginners: BFRPG Group Friday Night Pickups . There is games running usually on friday in various campaign boards that use that board as a messaging and announcement center.
Cool I'll definitely check it out, this group looks like a good place to get my feet wet thanks for the links and if anyone else reading this post wants to let me join their game I am more than willing to play other games.
I have been liking the basic fantasy rule set and have enjoyed role playing immensly, I have more time available so if there are any other groups looking for more players and don't mind me being new send me a PM and hopefully we can work something out.

I'm glad you enjoyed the system. It is a sweet system for new people to the hobby to learn from and gives a solid base to build with the more complex systems such as 3.5, pathfinder, or other similar d20 systems.
yea and because of the basic system I'm really curious how the harder stuff is like d&d 5 or pathfinder, or maybe something with sci fi setting like 40k

Actually the newer systems like pathfinder and d&d 5e are not that harder to learn, they are just more complex in their own way. I have no idea about 40k though. I just ran two new people to the hobby, a semi experienced player, and an experienced player through an introduction session tonight and they had fun. Killed everyone but the cleric due to their actions. Undead swarmed the group that sheltered in a building, one character got dragged up through the roof to be devoured, another one fell to their death from the highest part of the building, the third one set the building on fire and had it collapsed on him while the fourth one escaped through a mirror of teleportation that was in a room in the highest part of the building. The character that fell to his death found the mirror but did not understand it to use it.
