Question about handouts

I sometimes give my players maps in handout but I don't see a way for them to use the draw/text tools to edit them. An example: they discover a new location in the game and want to add it to their map. Is there a way to do this or a mod for handouts?

The image in a handout is just a static image.  I tend to use map pages for this sort of thing, and give players access to a "character" or 2 with rollable table tokens of map pins, flags, etc. for them to place on the map.

Thanks. I had thought of this but not quite what I'm looking for as the players don't have access to the maps without me moving them to it.

Hi Luke! If you want them to have a map they can annotate, look into the Map Change Script. It gives players the ability to navigate to a subset of pages you choose via macro commands. Set the map up as a user-accesible page, and then they can use the draw tools on that. I use that in my own campaign to give the players access to world and city maps for reference.
Excellent! Thank you so much @keithcurtis.  keithcurtis said: Hi Luke! If you want them to have a map they can annotate, look into the Map Change Script.
