My group tried the old system just a month or two ago. 6 of us and once everyone was on one player couldn’t hear anybody. I see the Beta says best with 5 or fewer but I’m wondering if, since that was our only issue, it might be worth checking out. Anybody try it (preferably with 6?)…

I've tried it with 5, and we've finally dropped using Discord. Much better system. My ISP went offline during last game, and I was able to continue using it while tethered to my 1 bar cellular phone. Robust as heck. Often while using the previous system, (which we only used for video), we'd have a dropped connection every now and then, or have a spot difficulty with the initial handshake. Nothing serious. But this has been rock solid.

I finally tried a clean install of Discord and that seemed to solve the problem for a while. But then it happened again last week. I finally ended up using my phone for Discord and my computer for Roll20.

Just tried to set my game to the Beta but it won’t stay; likely as I am on a Mac so it’s not “really” Chrome or Firefox… :(

If you are on a Mac (like I am), it is really Chrome and Firefox. It is only in the walled garden of iOS that Safari pretends to be other browsers. So, how and when does it revert?

That is not normal behavior. I've looked through the Troubleshooting section of the Help center and can't find anything that looks helpful. I'd suggest capturing a  Console Log ( Chrome , Firefox ) and filing a  Help Center Request . The Console log may give them insight as to why your switch reverts. I doubt it has anything to do with being on a Mac, or I'd likely have the problem as well.

While I am skeptical of most of the "improvements" Roll 20 has put forth of late, I was pleasantly surprised at how well the new system works. One of my groups has mostly Luddites and they all managed to get connected and stay connected for a whole session. We had used Discord in the past for years which worked for the most part. The new system seems to take some pressure off of older slower machines owned by older and less tech savvy users. I would call this one a win for Roll 20.

We've been using it for several weeks now.

Since enabling the new Voice & Video Beta I am having a problem with the Jukebox It is not playing for me but it does play for my test player. Also what are the Input Source selections? Mine look like GUID numbers and don't mean anything to me. Thirdly, what does the Prefer relay candidates check box do?

Just tried turning on V&VB on a PC and it did the same thing to me; default to WebGL. Maybe an account thing and not computer related?...
