Interest Check: Mutants & Masterminds

Are there still M & M fans out there? My experiences the last couple of years running 5th ed D&D have been decidedly mixed, with modern players seeming to be looking for more of a fantasy superhero game than a truly adventurous experience of growth and challenge. A quote by a recent player was "things don't get going until 5th level!" Well heck, if I'm going to run games for superheroes, why not run a superhero game?  Over the decades one of my go-to rpg's was Hero System/Champions. I had several long and successful campaigns of it. Great adventures with street level and Avengers level groups. Running 5th ed D&D has only increased my fond memories of those games.  Been looking at the M & M rules and I kind of like what I see. I need to research more, but I just wanted to see if there were still fans of the system, or supers games in general, still out there. Besides growing up on Marvel and DC since childhood, my more modern inspirations include Watchmen, the Wildcards books, Tiger and Bunny, And One Punch Man. Though I love punch ups, a role-play experience (I always love reading comics where the X-Men play poker or Avengers play basketball, and they all have various human relationships) is very much in my wheelhouse as well.  Give me a holler here or in PM and let me know if you might be interested in getting a campaign going in the New Year.  Cheers and Happy New Year!
Played champions new millennium myself way back when and would love to play mutants and masterminds. Have an array of books already, due to a game almost getting off the ground several years ago. Between one punch man and my hero academia, would love to do some super hero rp. Here's to a New Year and hopefully a new campaign
I promise you, there is a thriving community happy to play mutants and masterminds. I would love to play, schedule permitting.
Very awesome. i’m in Pacific time. I would be looking to do something like three hours on a Friday Saturday or Sunday evening at about 7 PM-ish. Really whenever the most people are available. This coming week I’m starting a new job, the best job of my career so I’ll be involved in that Monday through Fridays for a week or two getting settled in. but hopefully will try to get something going before too late into the month. maybe do a second post for good measure. I need to make a good study of the rules to be prepared. But as far as running any kind of superhero stuff I have a lot of past experience so I’m looking forward to getting back on that horse.
What I remember of 3rd edition is that it runs alot like 3e d&d. same 6 ability scores, plus a couple of extra, such as fighting is an ability score that subs for bab. The thing that got me at first was the damage/soak rules. I think the hit point variant is easier to pick up. I am Eastern time and can do most evenings after 7 my time, but would definitely prefer saturdays
