The old governments are faded relics, so in debt to their corporate masters that they no longer have the power to govern nor the right to do so. The world is divided between the haves and the have-nots - those who have money, those who have power, those who have magic - and those who don’t. Those with technology, and those without it. It’s no longer a question of what you do with power when you get it, it’s all about how long you can hang on to it. We’re the metahumans that do the things no one wants to talk about that put people in power and keep them there.
