Making handout pop out to only one player

Only a few months ago, I was able to do this by dragging the handout and dropping it to that specific player.  But apparently it's blocked. Is this a bug? or permanent change? Also I would really appreciate it if someone tells me how to do this by different method.

Are you using the Beta chat tech? I don't think that feature has yet been added.

I was talking about the method written here You can also drag and drop a Handout from the Journal tab in the right sidebar onto a player. That player will be given permission to view the Handout, and it will also appear on their screen immediately. Is this the Beta chat tech you're talking about?

Sort of. That's how it works with the older chat tech (which is still available). I don't think you can use that method in the beta chat yet. You can choose which tech to use under the video options of your game's settings tab.

Another way is to edit the handout to give that player view permission, save, then hit the show to players button.  If the view permission field is empty, then it will show to all players (after asking you if that is ok), but if the view permission is set then it only shows it to the player or players that are listed in the permission field.

I tried changing option andd found out I missed something while describing. Could you help me a bit more? (Editing access in advance certainly works well! Thanks for the tip.) But I wanted to know if I could give access and make it pop out simultaeously (this was available few months ago). In this case it keeps asking me whether I would like to show it to everybody.

I have just tested, and this now works in both versions of video chat.  If you drag a handout from the journal tab (not title bar of an open handout, but the name in the list) to one of the player names in the player area of the VTT, viewing permission will be assigned to that player, and it will pop up just for them. Be sure to drag from the name of the handout, and not its icon. The icon is used to change the sort order. the name area is used for dragging. You will see the player avatar/name turn yellow while you are dragging over it if you are doing it correctly. You can test this behavior with a  Dummy Account  if you do not have a player available. If you go through these steps and are still having an issue, please list the browser and OS you are using.
