Measure tool shows to players....

I found this out by accident.  When measuring, the GM can see the measuring line, the players can see it, but the GM that is relogged in as a player can't see it. This leads me to believe that its supposed to work as the players shouldn't see it, but its a bug that they can see it.  Although it would still be nice to have a way to either display the tool or not so you can show players something or just measure something hidden. Here is a screen capture.  Notice the three yellow circled areas. I did this all on one computer with two different usernames, one is the GM obviously and the other a player.

Thank you Konrad, I will find out if this is a bug or not. :) - Gauss

I tested this out and discovered that two incidences of a GM logged in (regardless of GM mode or player mode) will only report the measurement tool once.  Two different GM accounts will report them normally.  As with the other bug report regarding two instances of a single account open in a single game, I do not believe this is a bug since two instances of the same account in the same game may produce unexpected results and is not an intended use of Roll20. - Gauss

Whether its a bug or not I think the measuring tool needs a way for the GM to show the tool to the players and a way for the GM to not show the tool to the players.  There are just too many times where it is useful to know how far away a player is from the bad guy, but as soon as you start measuring the players see the tool and know something is up and if the bad guy is invisible they know exactly where he is.

While I agree with you that is something for the suggestion forum rather than the bug forum. :) - Gauss
