Keyboard Shortcuts for Moving Objects Between Layers Incorrect for Mac

Ctrl + Shift + M / Cmd + Shift + M >> Switch to the  Map & Background Layer  and move any selected objects to that layer The above instructions do not work for Mac. That's the way it used to work and probably should work for Mac. I was trying to get an object moved to map layer during game and finally just had to give up and try to work around it. I've been used to doing it this way probably since I started using Roll20 some years back.  But it looks like one of your programmers must have changed it to use the Ctrl key, like for PC, instead of the Cmd key, as is typically done for Mac (and as pointed out is how I think you meant it done). So please either set it back the way it was for Mac, to use the Cmd key, or change the instructions to match. TIA P.S. Also, there used to be a flyout method where I could get a flyout menu on click to appear and I could select the intended layer that way. But that no longer seems to be working (on Mac at least).

Hi Solanio! I can't reproduce this. I'm on a Mac and Cmd-Shft-M activates the map layer for me. To get the contextual menu for tokens, use a right-click. EDIT: On Chrome, Cmd-Shft-M on Mac is the default for calling up profiles. In my test, C md-Shft-M  switches to the map layer, unless the map layer is already active , in which case it calls up the Profile switcher. This might be a recent change to Chrome.

Hi Keithcurtis, Thanks again for taking a look. Don't know what to tell you. It's still the same for me.  Cmd + Shift + [layer abbreviation] only serves to move just me to that layer; the intended token that I wanted to move is still on the original layer. Again, Ctrl + Shift + [layer abbreviation] does work to move the token. Also, I typically don't use a mouse. Ctrl is supposed to stand in as a right-click and ctrl + click doesn't do anything but ping the map in my case, though I recall that it used to work before. But if I use gestures, like two fingers on the left of the keypad, that does invoke the flyout menu that I'm used to seeing.

Thanks! I misread your original post. I can confirm that objects are not moving properly via the hotkeys. I encourage you to report this via a  Help Center Request . I'll do likewise.
