
I'm starting a Dark Sun campaign. The game will not adhere 100% to existing canon, because I want to get back to its intended roots as a pulp-fantasy swords and psychics setting, but most things will be the familiar. I'm ignoring the novel tie-in metaplot because that was a genuinely bad idea. The players are supposed to be the heroes, not eclipsed by overpowered characters from a novel. To that end, this game world will have its own history. Much of the existing canon is going to be changed. There are several other ideas I'm removing, but I love the fundamental premise of the setting. So.... maybe 90% Dark Sun, 10% fixes to take out the marketing-inspired tolkeinesque idiocy. The goal here is improvement through subtraction I'm not sure how many players I want yet. Quality is more important than quantity, but I tend to like to keep it around 5 or lower.
