[LFP] [D&D 5E] [Tuesday Evenings EST] [18+] 4-5 PCs for Tremul, a horror-fantasy setting

NOTICE: The game is currently full, however if you're still interested then you can hit me up and I can put you into a small pool of potential alternates/replacements, as sometimes you lose 1 or 2 players in the first few sessions due to whatever conflict, or people just dropping out. I feel really good about the group I have, though, so no promises, just leaving the possibility for people who are potentially interested. Thanks!  Welcome to Tremul! Tremul is a custom setting that preserves the fun and flavor of your traditional high fantasy RPG, but with a heap of cosmic and mundane horror alike to make for a world full of secrets and high stakes. While not a super-gritty setting, expect to tongue a few grains of sand from between your teeth. I'm a former "forever DM" who's been out of the tabletop world for a bit, but recently some time has opened up and conversation with friends has reignited my desire to run a game, so here we are! Feel free to ask any questions or for clarification; DMs are also fine. For Players ------- -- New players are very welcome and I'll help you however necessary. -- We will initially run an altered version of the Dragons of Stormwreck Isle module (to give everyone time to ease in and give me time to develop the setting/world/campaign). Even if you've run this module before, that's fine. -- All official WoTC 5E material is allowed (even alternate settings -- we'll make it fit!). -- Material by Kobold Press I'm generally okay with, but must be approved. -- Other 3rd Party Material is fine, but must be approved. -- I will be using homebrew for encumbrance and resting/exhaustion to introduce a little semblance of realism to those aspects of the game without it being a burden. ----- Encumbrance calculations are automated, you only really need to keep track of your inventory, so it's not really any extra work, it's all mostly taken care of for you. ----- Long Rests must meet 3 criteria: Comfort, Safety, Satiation or you may risk exhaustion. This is more of a roleplay thing when the characters are in difficult situations than it is meeting statistical criteria. Some adventuring gear weights are adjusted for this. -- The above homebrew exists both for the sake of realism and to encourage the characters to find some sort of home, safe haven, or other means to store their valuables long-term. Even in a world of magic and high adventure, I'm not a fan of carrying a house and a bank on your back while you slay monstrosities from alternate dimensions. -- I do my best to integrate rolls for common dump stats and Toolkits/Proficiencies to make them feel like less of a waste. -- Creativity is encouraged -- I'm definitely a "Yes, but," or "Yes, and," DM. -- The world will be influenced by Ghostfire Games' Grim Hollow setting/rules. -- Some influence will be pulled from Van Richtens Guide to Ravenloft. -- The world is a work in progress -- I'll work with you on your character's backstory to integrate it into the world. The more creative and interesting you can make it, the more influence you can have. We'll make it work! -- While not a rule, I would appreciate players not duplicating character classes. Variety and access to more skills is fun! -- I have a very simple Discord server for easier communication and distribution/saving material. Link is in the game info on the game page. -- Game start date is tentative and may shift ahead a week if we don't have a full (or full-enough) roster. I'm also willing to shift the start time by an hour in either direction if everyone is on board with it and it's more convenient -- There will be no official session 0. If everyone can get together for an hour or so at a random time, that's possible, but most session 0 issues can be taken care of 1-on-1, through game posts, or via Discord. I think that's it! Looking forward to meeting you and playing.

Hello I'm really interested in joining the game. The cosmic horror and the setting seems right up my taste. I'm a new player who has been in long term campaign that went over for a year. Other details i can private message you. Hope to hear from you.

Hey I'm interested! Just got into DnD and have been in a few games I loved and a few that weren't rewarding. I'm creating my own game and a part of that is needing ideas, Dime#1294 ready for battle, captain.
