[LFP][DND 5E][Free][Homebrew] Looking for new players to join a homebrew campaign that is built to last to level 20+

Games are played Sundays 1030 pm - 3-4 am EST In the World of Zhandirah, magic is a luxury enjoyed by all, or at least, it was.  It flourished and filled the country, saturated its cities.  Zhandirah was like other worlds, until a dark wave enveloped the world.  The magic that its population enjoyed, had started to become tainted in its essence.  The more people used spells, the more the stability of magic had started to waver.  As time went by, eever so slowly, more and more became aware of the slight dilution of magic.  Hundreds had began researching ways to halt or slow down the taint, but the more mysteries people solved, the more questions that were uncovered.  Guilds all around the nation had allotted parties to search for the source of the taint, but none were succesful. As time passed, people lost more and more hope for their beloved magic.  Nations had begun to avoid any discussion or mention of the fleeting magic.  In fear of losing it entirely, The Elites of each nation, mainly the scholars of the arcane, implored that magic would soon be a thing to be saved. Magic items, items that still had magic essence imbued within their cores, were in higher demand.  Use of such items were the only method of using the mystical arts without risk of depleting resources.  Battles had erupted as more and more guilds fought for these powerful items.  This continued for years.  In the present day, the fighting had dampened, but the nation was split.  Each city wary in their trades, afraid that their partner would betray them.  Traditions that had been kept for centuries, were abandoned.  The wildlife had not been spared either.  At the same time the magic had began to be tainted, wildlife had taken notice, much sooner than the humanoid races, and shifted behavior, becoming more agitated as time passed.  In a span of five years, the country of Zhandirah had fallen in grace. Have been playing D&D since 1978, with several stops on the way as I tried a lot of other RPGs. I tend to be the game runner, I'm not sure why, but I'd really like to play more (I played in a one-shot a few weeks ago and loved it!).

Why You Are Interested: I just love the idea of a world where magic is limited. I played in a game like that, and it was fun, even though the campaign didn't last long. For 5e, I've been playing around almost 10 years, give or take. VtM only a 4 but infrequently. But I love trying out other games. So far, I've tried: Savages Lands, Shadow Runner, Star Wars, Mass Effect 5e, Pathfinder and a few others that I've enjoyed immensely. Unfortunately, most of the other didn't last long, but I enjoyed the games while they lasted. As far to what I like to watch, I love fantasy and Sci-fi. I'm heavily into Star Wars, but Star Trek will always be my first show. I still watch it when I am able to, which can be difficult since I no longer live in the States. Still, I enjoy watching new series if they pique my interest. I'm also very much into video games. I'll give anything a try as long as it isn't racing or FPS. (Mostly because I'm terrible at aiming). I'm also fond of horror and Tokusatsu. I also love watching Dimension 20 when I can, but I rarely watch any D&D related media. Mostly because it's not available in my country. Also, my favorite shows that hold very special places in my heart are Xena: Warrior Prince, Pirates of the Dark Water, Cleopatra 2525 and Star Trek: TNG due to childhood.

Im free every Sunday from 10:30 pm EST to around 2 EST  Favorite Class: Barbarian or Fighter.  I can play any class. I have had the most fun with those.  I am open to playing any class. Why You Are Interested: "campaign that is built to last to level 20+" Im looking to join a great group of people and go on an epic adventure together. Most games fizzle out at low levels, and I really want to develop a character that grows with the story. I like the idea of going into a campaign thinking my character will like this, and then something happens, and everything changes.  I think it would be cool to go in as a Good hearted Paladin, and if something happens, he becomes an Oathbreaker.  Or maybe an adventure-seeking rouge comes across real disparity in his hometown after a big score.  He is crushed and takes on a Bruce Wayne in the day, helping people, and Batman fights crime on the street at night.  Another reason I like your story is it has hints of D&D Darksun. (big reason I play on Roll20.  I don't have time to drive to somebody's house to play) I am a teacher so my weekdays are full also the reason I should be done playing by 2 EST. Why You Are Interested: I’m a nearly full-time dm who’s nearly 1.5 year long home game just went on hiatus due to one of our players having her baby in may so I’ve been wanting to get back out there as a player! My favourite parts of dnd are getting to interactive with and learn more about the other players characters, kicking some ass from time to time, building a shared story together, and those perfect nat 20s and 1s at the stupidest times 😂 You’re game interests me cus I love the twisted and darker vibe and think it would be so cool to play in a world where we can try to bring a bit of hope back to a world losing magic! I’m a massive nerd and cartoon fan so not gonna lie A:LA   is always on rotation, Community, and Rick and Morty. If I went some nostalgia I love a good ridiculous episode of X-Files or some old Star Trek, and I’ve probably watched way too many D&D play shows (Dimension20, Critical Role C2, NADPOD, and Dungeons and Daddies have got to be my tops). I'm a big sucker for dark fantasy, and pseudo-post apocalyptic settings, so the state of the world and the characters I could create inside of it really speaks to me. I love creating intricate characters that fit within a setting, so I'd love to delve deep into the lore of your world and create a truly fascinating character rather than something generic that fits. I'm an active player with need for another session outside of my current Bi-Weekly one, plus I have an incredibly weird schedule, so the time at which this campaign takes place is literally perfect for me. That alone is hard to find elsewhere. The dark themes and the potential story implications of your post seem awesome to me, and I'd thrive while exploring this rundown world. I love things that are outside of our perceived universe, and the innately magical calls to me. I'm currently watching the Director's Cut LoTR Trilogy, after that, I'll move on to The Hobbit. I love Star Wars both in cinema, and games. My favorite movie of all time is No Country for Old Men. Though, some of my favorite shows would be Peaky Blinders, Legend of Vox Machina, and Castlevania. When it comes to games, I'm definitely all over the place. Once had a long-running love for League of Legends, but now I play all sorts of RPG's and various other games. I love reading in my spare time, whether it be books or somebody's homebrew lore documents. Creative writing is also another passion of mine, I really love to spend hours coming up with worlds and characters of my own while drafting how they fit together in a cohesive story. I get really into the 'Roleplay' side of things, but I love almost every aspect of 5E. I'm semi-new to TTRPG's as a whole, but I've been playing 5E for quite some time now, and I really love it. Why You Are Interested: I am an avid consumer of all things worldbuilding, I adore exploring people's worlds and integrating my character design into them. More specifically, the dying magic vibe is something that seems really fun to me, especially with my penchant for divine casters and how they play into the arcane world. I'm eager to see how the gods and churches react to such a situation, given their common roles in fantasy society! OOC wise, scheduling can be tough, there aren't many people around at my odd hours of availibility, so to see a campaign so interesting and well fleshed out available has me incredibly excited. I am a healthcare worker who lives with my partner and our cat, spending most of my time delving deep into whatever nerdy fixation has my attention at the time.
