Darkvision revised to hide colours on the map

As per the D&D rules, darkvision does not reveal colours, but it's not feasible to run a party on the same map and have colours work differently at present (as the solution could be to simply render a greyscale version of your map for players with darkvision). Hence, keithcurtis said I should suggest that a solution be made that perhaps utilizes the "explorer mode" version of a revealed map which is indeed in greyscale. He thought that perhaps " a filter rather than an overlay" could be the solution. I was very much looking forward to using this feature of darkvision and was disappointed to hear that I have to work around it, by essentially splitting the party up and isolating the player with darkvision and using a greyscale version of the map or part of the map...
I played with this a little after another GM recommended changing the night vision tint color to red. While red works, I prefer using black, which definitely gives the illusion of greyscale. Colors do show through a bit (moreso than with red), but they are muted.

Yes I've done the same, but having to manually mute all the colours for it to work isn't a good solution - I shouldn't have to nerf the experience of the map in full light in order to cater to the niche experience of a darkvision player being unable to see some red colours.
