Dynamic Lighting "Ctrl+L" Inaccurate

I couldn't find if this was posted elsewhere, but the Ctrl+L (see lighting) feature seems to be giving inaccurate results. If I understand it correctly, with Ctrl+L you should only see what the player would be seeing with that token (in other words, just like rejoining as a player with permission for that token). I have two tokens in my test, one with a 60' radius dim light and the other with no light, and the 60' radius dim light does not have "All players see light" checked (this is to simulate darkvision, which only the token with darkvision should see). I also have a small torch with a 15' dim light and 3' bright light in the corner for clarity. If I join as the character without the light, I see this: If I join as the other character, I see this: I would expect that if I did Ctrl+L on the fighter (one on the left) I would get the first picture. Instead I get this: In other words, the light produced by the second token is showing up even though I am trying to see the vision of the first token. This is an issue since I often use Ctrl+L to determine what a specific player can see during play. Giving myself permissions to tokens on and individual with a separate player view up is inefficient. Is this intended? Thanks!

Thank you for reporting this. It is a known issue with Ctrl+L and the "has sight" function because GMs count as in control of all tokens.
Ah, that makes sense. I guess I could just use auras instead. Would be neat if you could make a GM-only aura (so you could set an aura for the players to see their sight range but it wouldn't be constant for them). I don't know how Roll20 is coded but I imagine if it were a matter of turning all token "ownership" flags to off for the GM then turning it back on for the selected token it would have been done already. Probably more complicated. Thanks for letting me know!

You can set GM-only auras by unchecking the "See" and "Edit" boxes on aura lines in the token's advanced tab.
Hah, perfect. Didn't even think of that. Not a perfect solution but it defenitely works, thanks!
