Hey there folks. Just to elaborate right off the bat, I am open on system with a strong preference for Pathfinder 1e or 2e. I am extremely uninterested in D&D 5e simply because I feel the system is too light. APs are good and homebrew games are good; both have pros and cons associated with them. What matters most to me is that there is a mature group of people with the shared goal of building a collaborative story in a setting we all enjoy. As for timing, I am looking for a game that preferably takes place early in the day, like starting around 12:00 - 2:00PM EST any day of the week. The reason for this is because I live in Europe much of the time and want to make the time transition less painful for myself for a long term campaign. This doesn't necessarily mean that I couldn't play at a later time, but it would have to be a good fit for me to consider it. Now, with this pertinent information out of the way, allow me to expand more on who I am and what I'm looking for. I have more than two decades of tabletop experience under my belt, starting with D&D 2e and 3/3.5e, various White Wolf stuff, BESM, Traveler, etc. I have played in nearly every style of campaign that exists and have come to find that I have the most fun in slower paced, heavy role-play games. It isn't that I dislike mechanics--if that were the case Pathfinder wouldn't be my preferred system--but rather that I most deeply enjoy character interactions, be they between players or NPCs. In fact, I do actually like mechanics a fair bit--I like to have structure to work around when designing characters and it helps to understand the world around said character. I invest a significant amount of time into my characters out of game to try to fully understand their mindset, their past experiences, successes and failures, their goals, and what their likes and dislikes are. I enjoy finding theme music for my characters, tending to build large playlists as a campaign goes on (which I will share if others have interest). I write my recaps in character and perform them as a sort of soliloquy, which I like to push for in any group I join since I think it's fun. When I have the spare money, I also like to get character art made as well. Game wise, I am hoping to find a slow burn campaign. Past campaigns I've been in have lasted for 3-4 years at a time, so I am not intimidated by something long. I like to take in those 'idle' moments where characters are just themselves, living their lives and not necessarily harried by some quest or doom. What I mean is, that even in the darkest moments, our characters are still people, and whether under pressure or not, I like to take some time to experience those feelings where appropriate rather than cutting from action to action. I want to play with people who are serious about telling a story, but not so strict to the point of pretension or leaving no room to goof around a little. This is mostly a note for any White Wolf storytellers who may reach out, but generally speaking I prefer to focus on stories that are collaborative both in the act of creation and also in working together towards a common goal. I am not as excited about the cut throat, scheming against fellow players kinds of games any more. Though I do love political games such as the War for the Crown AP in Pathfinder (I only got to play the first book sadly) where we are aligned towards political/social enemies that aren't fellow players. I am getting older now and I just don't have the energy for interpersonal drama OOC any more. I want a chill group of people where we all treat each other with mutual respect, especially when we disagree, no matter our race, sex, orientation, or whatever. I can expound forever and am, for better or worse, a bit of a windbag who likes to talk, which is something any group would have to live with. =P So for now, I'll leave it at this and will happily talk more later with any interested parties. If you made it this far, I thank you for taking the time to read and for your interest in me. Feel free to post any offers or questions either in this post or via DM to me. I look forward to hearing from you!
