SLOTS FILLED! THANKS FOR APPLYING! I aim to be running.... Curse of Strahd ... A horror adventure where a group of heroes finds themselves trapped in the accursed lands of Barovia. A region of dower and gloomy people where vampires and werewolves stalk the forests, and a dark vampire lord watches them all from atop his castle. Will you find your way out of the mist and back home? System: 5e Schedule:  Monday or Wednesday, 8pm-12am EST Slots Available: 4-5 Style: Will be a roleplay and story focused game! Dark and gothic horror themes. Plenty of mysteries to uncover and exploration to be done, with difficult combat. Definitely sandboxy.  Session Duration: ~4 hours. Requirements:  Discord for VC. Whats your character idea with race/class/RP concept? My character would most likely be a Wood Elf Ranger. My character wouldn’t fit the general stereotype out on elf’s  she’s quite caring and nice, I do like to add humor elements into my characters. She wouldn’t be super serious all the time. (doesn't need to be set in stone) Human or halfling rogue who only gained these skills because they were the middle child in a large family and was often forgotten about. one day on a family trip, they accidentally left the rogue behind and she had to fend for herself in the town where they left her in wait for them to return 6. (1) What's your TTRPG experience? -I have played for about 2-3 years, mostly campaigns on Dndbeyond+owlbear or in person with some friends. (2) What's your preferred style of game? (RP, mystery, exploration, combat, etc...) -My preferred style is majority roleplay, getting to converse with players and NPCs to get a feel of the world, as well as difficult combat that forces me to use unorthodox methods to find ways of winning or escaping. (3) Monday or Wednesday, and how good is that time for your availability? -For right now, I am available for both days for the entirety of those days. (4) How much do you know about Curse of Strahd and/or have you played any of it in the past? -I have never played Strahd before and have only heard about it later on. I will most likely give the book a little bit of a  readover . (5) What's your character idea with race/class/RP concept? (doesn't need to be set in stone) -My current character idea is to play a male dhampir (if allowed), with a martial class (I am not sure which one yet). For his story, due to his conception, he would have lived most of his life as an orphan in abandoned buildings or on the outskirts, scavenging for food. He would be essentially outcast by humans and seen as filth by vampires. As for his personality, he would be more of a stoic and calm type, but prone to outbursts. I was thinking the classic bookish wizard  roving the countryside for more knowledge and more books. I was thinking of the inspiration of Mr. Norrell. He is stuffy and a bit long winded. He is devoted to the party in as much as their success will bring him to more magic. Was thinking of playing as a gnome or dwarf so he comes from a hard working community that he has distanced himself from in pursuit of knowledge. 6. 1. Whats your TTRPG experience?  - 2 Years of an ongoing campaign that just ended, so I'm looking to find a new group and meet new folks. :)  - There've been intermittent periods of playing DnD 3.5, a few homebrew systems, and old BESM.  2. Whats your preferred style of game? (RP, mystery, exploration, combat, etc...) - Combat / RP are generally my focuses. I love making in depth characters who develop / grow through the story. It's generally my goal to interact with the world around the party to make it feel more "lived in", so I do tend to interact and try to foster interactions with NPCs.  3. Monday or Wednesday, and how good is that time for your availability?  - I'm free on Mondays and Wednesdays currently.  4. How much do you know about Curse of Strahd and/or have you played any of it in the past? - I've not really played any of the modules outside of one very modified version of Phandelver and maybe 2 sessions of a very dysfunctional party for Descent to Avernus. I'm aware of Strahd being a vampire, some of his personality, and a vague understanding of the overall setting enough to know that it's a setting that just appeals to me. But nothing really detailed. As this is one of the few modules I've actually WANTED to play, I didn't want to spoil myself if the chance ever came along.  5. Whats your character idea with race/class/RP concept? (doesn't need to be set in stone) - Generally speaking I tend to be a "gap" filler, which often leaves me playing support classes. As a result, I've found myself playing a Cleric or in the latest campaign I came from I was a Lore Bard / Bladesinger.  For Strahd, I've always felt that playing a College of Spirits bard would be really fitting. But I'm trying desperately to get away from playing in my comfort zone. I'd be happy playing a Grave / Life / Light Cleric to help the party.  Human / Eladrin / Hexblood / Reborn would be the likely race. I could see a hexblood falling into faith / religion in hopes to of undoing the agreement as a really compelling thing.  But I'm open to whatever is needed and open to things in character backstory that might be fun for the sake of plot. I'm not that picky about races. - so likely a Hexblood Cleric of some stripe?   - if not that an overly cheerful satyr swashbuckler/genie lock because why not... XD  6. 1. Whats your TTRPG experience? I've been playing D&D for a good 7+ years now and have plenty of experience playing at a table and online. Through the various games I've participated in I've learned how to conduct myself and bring a fun, comfortable atmosphere so everyone at the table can enjoy themselves. 2. Whats your preferred style of game? (RP, mystery, exploration, combat, etc...) While I do love combat and exploration, social interaction easily has to be one of my favorite elements of D&D. I love roleplay and so building relations between PCs or NPCs and having the freedom to learn about the people and growing connections throughout the world of the game is what I'm most passionate about, it's what made me fall in love with D&D to begin with. 3. Monday or Wednesday, and how good is that time for your availability?  Prefer Wednesday, just more fitting of my schedule  4. How much do you know about Curse of Strahd and/or have you played any of it in the past? I have played Curse of Strahd once or twice in the past but I personally love the setting and atmosphere of the game and changing up aspects about the game with different characters who interact with the world and NPCs differently! I love dark fantasy and Curse of Strahd really scratches that itch!  5. Whats your character idea with race/class/RP concept? (doesn't need to be set in stone) I do have some fun ideas for a character to tie them into the setting of Ravenloft, though I'd rather talk about this more with the DM but I was thinking of the character either being a human or half-elf fighter or barbarian who was experimented on turned into a mutant for nefarious reasons, whose on a quest for revenge to those who wronged him.
