A Call of Cthulhu game is being planned right now, and we need investigators. Probably at least three of them, maybe five. The setting is post-revolution Russia, roughly 1925. You don't need to know the mechanics of CoC or the history of Russia, but we will be doing some diving into historical events, so it would be good if you were interested in one or both of those. I found some interested people, and we might be able to have a game with me as the Keeper, helped by a DM who is actually a DM. A few details. The game is play-by-post (PBP). It means that instead of using voice to play, we will use text to play. We will type out our characters' ations and maybe thoughts, and we can get pretty descriptive. We do not expect novels, but we do want some fun times, so please apply if you can write some about the character and are willing to describe mechanics. Be interested in play-by-post, and then, I'm sure, we'll have fun. There (probably) will be some voice chats. They just help to resolve issues that might take a while to figure out in writing. But I will try to put everything in writing (because I'm just better at it than at talking). Mechanics will happen. Luck and dice are important in CoC. We might be unlikely to combat often, but we will do social rolls and investigation rolls and much more. Also, once I figure out how to simplify chase sequences, there might be those. But the focus is roleplay. In writing, sessions will probably take a while. I do not expect you to post too often, but because of that, please expect that we make one "session" over the course of a week at least. We can try to meet up for synchronous sessions, too, and then it might be a couple days, though. Whatever floats our collective boat. I do not want to demand a lot of your time and commitment. As long as you don't ghost, it's okay. Just communicate. You need to be absent - it's okay. You don't like the themes of the story - it's okay, sit that one out. That's why we might have a bigger team so that people hop in and out and enjoy what they want to enjoy. I'm Russian, GMT+5, with an accent and very new as a dm. That said, I know PbP, and I hope to perform that role well enough since in PbP, you get more time to look up stuff. We will use roll20. I'll teach you (and myself) as we go. I would love for characters to be actually fleshed out. This is a roleplay-focused game, so please think what you want to play. We will probably start mid-June, maybe late June. We'll see how the character creation goes. There is some "homebrew" if that's the name. Just because of the setting, it works better that way. Please be an adult (18+), please be willing to be inclusive, be ready to share triggers and such (it's a horror setting, so yeah), and please be ready to have fun! So there.
