Day 7 The gang carries on from their last adventure taking a short
rest to bind wounds. Shortly thereafter
we notice what appears to be the Tomb of the Giant Kings. Luna urges the party on as Coran stays behind to watch the horses. We make our way into the entrance and notice a huge pile of
bones and skulls along with a terrible stench. As we are looking around, Lothar notice a hunched hairy
humanoid figure scurrying away. As we are dayrealise we are now in a fight. Severos is the first to take some serious damage and is
dying whist the others fight on. He does
manage to rally himself to take out one of the beasts. We start to think we
might be OK when we hear the howling in the distance, as Jir-El goes down as
well. More of the little beasties arrive, along with what appears
to be their much larger leader. The party rallies and manages to chop down the little guys,
leaving the big man to Cozan who chops his head off. The party cleans up the rest of the fleeing little
creatures. Realising we are in a sad state, the party return outside and make up
camp to get a rest and bind their wounds. Day 8 Returning the next day, we discover treasure behind the
alter: Master craft broad sword (2d6) worth 10x a normal weapon.
Goes to Lothar. We explore further and discover a deep sinkhole and then a
statue of a scorpion/hydra. As we move
through, Jir-El gets lost and is attacked by rats. We hear her screaming and
come back to fend off the hoard of rats without much difficulty. Once the rats have been taken care of, we keep exploring and
finding minor trinkets in amphorae. Old pewter tankard. We hear an odd chittering sound and pass a smashed dragon
statue. As we continue down we notice a giant statue of a hero. And the glimmer
of daylight to the southeast. Exploring further we come upon a statue of a great serpent
with green quartz eyes and to the south an alter with a statue of a reptilian
man. We discover what appears to be a giants tomb and decide to
slide open the top stone and discover nothing of interest. Going north, along a long corridor we discover a pile of
Eldrich sidules which were the source of the apparent daylight. We come across a pool of water and Cozan notices something
to the north. We enter a huge 30ft high chamber with marble serpents and well equipped
skeletons and a giant skeleton leader. A second giant is staring, obviously
bemused. His legs and thighs are damaged. “I still stand, come if you wish to
fight!” We ready our weapons and are attacked by a SMASH ATTACK.
Severos goes flying (per usual). He, along with Lothar and Cozan are prone. From the north we hear crypt lids hitting the ground.
Obviously, more are coming. Jir-El releases a mighty shot and seriously hurts the big
guy. CRUSHING BLOW next. Severos is now down and dying. Corzan
come to the rescue killing the giant and rallying Severos. Then he attempts to
help Ji-El. The guards charge at Corzan and take him down. The party is
hurt and swinging wildly. Severos is nearly dead when Jir-El gives him a healing
potion. The skeletons just keep coming and poor Corzan can no longer
fight them off and dies. Sevros and Lothar are swinging wildly. Severos smashes a skeleton
and Lothar loses his weapon. It is not looking good for the home team. Everyone in the party come together to kill the remaining
skeletons. We loot the room to find: Masterwork long bow (magical – Unerring bow) Lothar grabs a pouch of silver coins (30sp) Jir-El grabs a poison dagger (paralyse, potency 12) Severos find a locket of fair hair and a wooden statue) We think we are safe at the moment and contemplate our next
moves.
