Hello there! My name is Kris (35M) , Id like to say Im a professional DM , Ive been getting paid, and have worked on modules and various game systems for over a decade of my life, but to be honest, I just love telling stories and doing voices. One thing I think Im good at as a dm, and am able to help provide to my players, is an immersive world that takes you into the heart of Faerun and Dungeons and Dragons . I do this with the various accents and voices Ive crafted over the years, the various map packs I buy, or create myself, along with music and art I create , or purchase for the games, all kind of put together in a setting the makes players feel like theyre living in the world of DND, and not just playing a game at a computer. When it comes to the rules and structure of my games, Im very flexible in nature as long as the group is clear about what they want out of the system. 5e is very mailable, and can accomplish many things. As a "forever" DM Ive tried to be just as pliable, providing the group with what they individually want out of the game, instead of just running it the same way for every group I encounter like I see many DMs do, I strive to individualize each game. Ive ran games with combat timers, where its gritty, RAW (Rules as Written), and basic point buy. But Ive also ran extremely high fantasy games, adding tons of magic items, free level 1 feat, and creating more of a "everyone is epic" feeling throughout, it just depends on what the players want. One thing I like to mention is that when a module is complete, usually a player isnt level 20, one thing I am proud of is that at this point in my career I have taken most of my groups to the cap if they have requested it, and currently have a group on Wednesdays thats 20 after starting all the way back in November of 2021 with Tomb of Annihilation. :) That brings me to the two modules I am wanting to run again, Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden, and The Wild Beyond The Witchlight. The reason why Im choosing these two modules is they are kind of polar opposites, but in the end, are pretty open to playstyles depending on what people want. Rime is more of a dark, gritty setting, where an evil Demi-God named Auril has covered Icewind Dale in a perpetual state of darkness and frost biting cold. This means the game can be played as such, grim dark, traditional DND style, or can be turned into something with a bit of levity, having witty and dry humor spin the story into something funny and jovial. Witchlight is a whimsical, light-hearted setting, with tons of punchlines and references, put together in the Feywild, where almost anything is possible. But, if given the proper direction, this module can easily be turned into a dark tale of manipulative hags ruining a beautiful and otherwise majestic place, where no one has the strength to stand up to such cruelty. Both modules have tons of opportunity for backstories though, which is what I enjoy the most about story telling and dnd in general. Not just having you play through the game, and complete it, but also make your character a part of the world, not just passing through it, and thats why Id like to run them for you, the player. My availability opened up for Fridays (any time), I normally try not to have more than 5 games a week going at a time, that way I can be available for my players when they need to talk about game stuff. I dont charge for conversations, nor do I ignore you when its not game day. I am a very black and white person, extremely honest, I show my rolls , and am always happy to help teach or learn myself. KrisV#3770 is my discord account, I use that app for voice, and roll20 for my games. The only thing I ever ask is for people to be on time, if youre gonna be late or miss, to let people know asap, and a clear working mic. Thanks for taking the time to read this far, here are two intro videos I made for Rime and Witchlight, feel free to check them out.
