D&D 5E Evil Campaign - Looking for Players (Australian +9.5 GMT)

Hello All, I am looking at starting a 5E campaign and am on the lookout for players - game will most likely be on Tuesday nights from 6pm-10pm (+9.5 GMT). If you are interested please reply to this topic with some contact details - feel free to shoot me a PM.

I'm in Wednesday or Friday at that time, but I don't get home from work until 10:30 on Tuesday/Thursday. If you change the day/time, count me in.

I too am in the same situation. Tuesday night is not ideal but almost any other day is. If the day changes feel free to PM me. I have been looking for a 5e game for a while now.

I can definitely do that time (you posted in my other thread) but as I mentioned, I have no 5E experience. What is 5E like, compared to other versions?

5E is easy to pick up - plus its a new system so no one is going to have a great grasp on it. I am not married to Tuesdays - Monday night would also be workable.

Would all of the characters be evil? What's the setup concept? evil against each other in an evil world? Evil chased by good?

I'll play, completely new to all of this but all my week nights are free so yeah

A couple of questions I'd like to know about your campaign: 1) Will voice / video chat be required? If so, what program would we be using? 2) What kind of ratio between roleplaying / exploration combat are you aiming for? 3) Are you expecting this to be a short term campaign or a fairly long one?

James S Your characters do not necessarily have to be evil, but willing to perform tasks for an evil organisation - for example you may just be sellsword in search of fortune - you do not necessarily need to be devoted to promoting the forces of evil. In terms of campaign set up I do not want to give too much away - but this will be evil vs good - for example instead of being the adventuring party trying to stop the evil cultists from summoning an ancient power, the party will be the ones doing the summoning.... ChefMKT 1. Voice chat will be required, Roll20 and Skype (if needed). 2. The campaign will definitely not be a straightforward dungeon crawl there is a lot of scope for politics and roleplaying with the party even having the potential to set up their own organisation. 3. The intention is for this to be a long campaign 6-12 months+

I will aim to have some chargen stuff up in the next day or so - but this is your chance to go crazy with characters you normally never would be able to play. All races and classes from the PHB are available but I will also allow monster races and anything else you can come up with - I have had a lot of experience with DMing and houseruling so I can keep the power level equal - the most important thing is to have a character you enjoy playing. For what its worth the campaign will begin with the players in prison - I will have a list of possible crimes and a whole lot of other information to help get the ideas firing.

Are we ready enough to make a group for this? I am okay every Monday. From April, I am not sure what country I will be in (changing jobs) but it's possible my time zone will change. I won't know until it gets closer.

I am happy to go with point buy or roll it out - if you choose the roll option we will do it together through Roll20. I will have a fair bit of information in terms of the setting and background - so you may want to hold off on a final concept until you see that.

I have been looking to try out 5e for a time and the time for this game suit me very well. I am familiar with everything from OD&D and AD&D to 4th ed but I liked 2nd ed AD&D best. Are there still open spots ? Are you still looking for players ?

Feel free to ask me any questions on Skype or via PM here - my intention is for us to meet on Monday the 22nd September to finalise character creation and familiarise everyone with Roll20, the campaign will then commence proper the following week on the 29th September.

Its all very basic at the moment and I do not love the formatting of Obsidian but its a start.

Yeah, I like Obsidian a lot. I'm going to port my 5E over to it. Just takes a lot of setup.

Hi DM. I'm in Melbourne and I am pretty familiar with 5e at this point. I'm in another campaign as a lawful good fighter at the moment. Have played a bit to moderate 4th and 3.5 ed in the past. Also, know a little Gurps and a few other systems so I guess I'm no longer a total novice. Also have the players handbook and the starters set. Are you still looking for other players? Fair enough, if you're full. By the way, love your Campaign Overview, it reminds me of DC comic's 2008 Secret Six or Thunderbolts.

Hey DM, are you still accepting players? I am GMT +9:30, I have played only a few hours of 3.5E and a reasonable amount of 4E but I would still consider myself new to roleplaying. I have been playing with friends but interest levels have been up and down, they finish work late or have university commitments so we rarely get a game of our 4E in

A quick reminder to all that the first session will be held this Monday (22nd September) at 6pm. This will be a relatively short (an hour or two at most) informal session, its purpose is as follows: Provide an opportunity for everyone to meet; To identify who will be playing in this campaign, there has been significant interest but showing interest and actually showing up on time are two different things haha; Familiarise everyone with Roll20, including myself as it has been a while. The campaign will start a little slowly, for me the most important thing is to put together a good group of people to play with regularly - the first couple sessions are to establish an awesome group.
