Looking for 2-4 more players for a short summer campaign (July and August ish). We'll be using Discord for voice . Hoping to start this Tuesday preferably, or Wednesday if that's better. Probably around 6pm EST for ~4 hours, but flexible. I'd like it to be largely driven by the players characters, and be mostly about story and whatever the players decide to do (sandbox), rather than a hack-n-slash single quest driven adventure. As part of that, I'm hoping to start with a session 0 where we discuss a few different campaign, setting, and story/character options, including building characters. I'd also like to do some possible collaborative world-building. I think it would be fun to collectively contribute to brainstorming ideas for major factions, governments, conflicts, maps, and even how magic works. We'll be using/playtesting a system I'm developing called 'Duels of Dreams '. It's similar to D&D in flavor and function, but has more of a focus on customizeable characters via point buy, visceral immersion and gritty realism, tactical combat options, and deadly wounds. You can check out more of the rules here.

Large parts of the system are inspired by other rpg's where you can build magic users and powers/spells from scratch, such as the 'Hero System', 'GURPS, and 'Ars Magica'. I'm currently re-typing the magic section and hope to test some of that soon. Some example builds the system focuses on are: an elemental bender , a vancian (D&D style) caster but with more specialization options, a "mutant" or "superhero" with a few powerful specific abilities, magic and weapon user hybrid builds, and custom casters who know less spells (compared to D&D) but the spells are more powerful and flexible in how they are cast. I hope you'll consider jumping in with us! To get the wheels turning, here are a few starting ideas I'm considering implementing in some way. You play multiple characters across multiple generations, and with that increased time scope, get to see influence on the world around you over time, be a part of rising and falling kingdoms, and maybe build some places yourself. Training and advancement would be more realistic and take longer. Maybe you just play 1 main character, but it's still largely sandbox driven. Would probably focus more on politics and intrigue, player rivalries and tie-ins, goals, etc. Probably more of a game of thrones setting and feel. We play some eventually powerful magic users who end up doing some world-shaking things, forever altering the landscape around them. Whatever ideas or fantasy itch you have! As a GM , I'm here to make sure you have fun. I've got 3000+ hours in Roll20, and even more in person as well. I've got a ton of GM'ing experience, and have been working on this system on and off for over 15 years. That being said, new players are absolutely welcome. I've have missed running more story/character driven games, as I've been doing a lot of hack-n-slash and premade adventure conversions. Looking forward to this game!
