LF1 Player - Krynn - Every Thursday 8PM UK time (3PM EST) - excluding August and Christmas holidays

Hello all,  I am looking for one more player to join an existing DnD 5e campaign which runs every Thursday 8PM - 12PM UK time. Group Dynamics We are long standing pick up crew (3-5 years now) who play together on Thursday evening which consists of:  3 real life mates in late 40s 2 Americans (one female) both in their 20s 1 European in his 20s and I am looking for one other player to join an existing Krynn campaign which we are around 4 months into.  The previous campaign ran for just over 3 years which other side adventures run by the players in the group to give me a break from GMing.   What to expect? I understand that joining a group which has been playing together for a long time can be very daunting but we are a good bunch of people from various backgrounds who have a lot of fun on Thursday nights.  We have a tendency to play to character rather than hard-core role playing but, I cannot stress this enough, if you are easily offended then this is not the group for you.  Literally,  any topic is not considered taboo  in character and OOC we just ask that you respect the other players and personal insults (which have never happened) continue this way and for this reason we expect any players to be over 21 and be open minded.  Sexism, Racism and all forms of content are tolerated in game as it forms part of what the campaign is about.  Literally, anything goes... What the group is looking for Aside from the requirements above, we are open ended.  Someone who is punctual and turns up every week and someone who will buy into the campaign, understand the story be prepared to put in some effort on their character background so I can help weave it into the campaign as required.  Not too much though due to the nature of the difficulty of the campaign. We understand that people are absent from time to time, but ongoing excuses for not being able to make it will result in a removal. So, with this said - let's talk about the adventure.... About The adventure is set on Ansalon in the World of Krynn.  Five unlikely heroes have found themselves in a caravan transported West across the Plains of Dust in high summer time with a Gnomish war machine which constantly malfunctioned.  The prisoners (the PCs) were chained in a caravan, starving and under the effects of malnutrition. After escaping from the caravan which was held by goblins, they met their main protagonists, the draconians and dispatched the caravan and followed the path to their lair on finding a series of supplies within a cave which they later learned is for a war effort for the oncoming onslaught from the East.   The party have had many adventures through the plains of dust which included:  Setting free a powerful undead creature who raised an army against Thorbardin (but lost) Meeting and unfortunately killing by design a clan of Gully Dwarves Dealing with the Lycanthropy guilds in the area, which they succeeded although they also destroyed the opposing guilds also.   Managing a necromancer who was inflicting terror on the area - they managed to deal with his minions but not him.  Being refused entry into Thorbardin Two of the wizards have passed their tests of high sorcery but with huge cost.   Meeting with the future heroes of the lance in the inn of the last home.  Entering into the Qualinesti Forest under the watchful eyes of the elves although they are currently working for a small village  At its current stage, I am only World building and the campaign has not really started as of yet and many of the party members have died.  Only one of the players has their initial character, the rest have lost at least one character. If you die, you start a new character at level 1 so it is exceptionally important that you protect your character and do not do anything rash. Krynn Krynn is a World which was created in the 2nd edition DnD and has just been revitalised for Roll20.  The time is set 200 years after the Cataclysm with the Kingpriest of Istar compared himself equal to the Gods.  As a direct resulted, the Gods hurled meteors onto Istar sinking the city and changing the World forever.   The party is currently exploring the World 200 years after the Cataclysm, the gods have turned their backs on the World giving rise to new cults, new divisions of races who literally hate each other and a general mistrust of everyone outside of their communities.   In recent times, the constellation of Takhisis the Chromatic Dragon has been flickering in the sky whilst the other two remain blackness which gives rise for huge concerns for Ansalon.   House Rules We go with rule of cool with GM making ultimate decisions which I try to make common sense based.  Do not expect monsters to be the same as they are given as I give creatures some wild and wonderful abilities.   Wizards are governed by moons and this gives them their strengths and weaknesses.  There are no god based powers currently as the gods have turned away from Krynn...so no healing, bless etc.  Inherent abilities are allowed.  Exhaustion rules are in place. New Players vs Experienced Players We really do not mind, although you would need to have some DnD experience so that you know what to do.  Roll20 is quite intuitive and easy-to-use but you do have a group who is prepared to help you.   About Me I started playing 2nd edition DnD when I was 6 and I fell in love with it.  After a few years of playing with my eldest brother, I then went onto GM in school for some of my friends (one of which plays in this campaign).  I went onto GM for around 8 years and then stopped playing at the age of 21. Around 5 years ago one of my mates brothers introduced me to Roll20 and RL mates joined a campaign where I was a player.  After doing this for around 18 months, I decided to GM myself and set up a new campaign for Midgard which successfully ran for over 3 years.    This is my 2nd major campaign on Roll20 taking it back to my roots of my favourite ever fantasy character Raistlin and aligning the adventure with the novels of Margaret Weiss and Tracy Hickman.  I am not hugely experienced in 5e, I have never read through a rule book (although sometimes I refer to the players for their opinions) as they are more experienced in 5e that myself.  Communication We use Zoom for our communications, with camera off.   You must be able to speak excellent English.  I think this is about everything, so if you have any questions, please let me know.  Summary Thanks for looking and hope to adventure with you soon!  If you are not selected, please note this is not a job interview and there is only one slot.  Any more than 1 makes it unmanageable for Roll20.

Hi Karl, I would be interested to join your  campaign . I have some DnD experiance (been playing and DMing the dark sun setting for 1 year now) and a decent amount of R20 experiance. I have been mainly playing a cetting called Dark sun, but I will read into your world if you accept me. I am from Germany, so time is no problem with time. If you need more information just dm me.
