It might just be coincidence that someone advertised a game called, "The Edge of Civilization" and spam-botted positive reactions to the post a day after I was trolled by someone demanding they be allowed to play a 7th level character in a first level game, and declared the rule about having a video camera doesn't apply to them. Best wishes to all other games. My game isn't going to appeal to everybody, nor am I attracted to every other game advertised here on Roll20. I just hope everyone finds the game which best suits them, and everybody has fun. In the meantime, I run a campaign called, "The Edge of Civilized Civilization." It's High Fantasy, based on ideas of Tolkien, historic Middle Ages, with a touch of Fritz Lieber (Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser) anti-hero concepts. Gothic and Steampunk are cool ideas, if someone knows how to incorporate them within the rules. We currently have THREE great players, and can use a FOURTH or more. Game details copy/pasted below, message me with questions or to request an invite. ____________________________________________ The Edge of Civilized Civilization "If you can't take a little bloody nose, perhaps you should go back home and crawl under your bed. It's not safe here. It's wondrous, with treasures to satiate desires both subtle and vulgar, But it's not for the timid." -Q- This 3.5 Edition Dungeons & Dragons game will be held on Sunday afternoons at 1:00PM based on American East Coast (New York, D.C., Charlotte, Atlanta, Miami) time. Each session will last about 4 hours. 3.5 base rules with considerations. The game is held Sunday, 1:00-5:00. If anyone wants to join a quick meet and greet or play a one-shot, I'm usually on here from 11 or noon o'clock until around 9 every Sunday, and a few weeknights. Otherwise, character roll-up and Session Zero happens in-game, since we've already been playing for 5 weeks as of 9July, 2023. This starts as a 1st level game. It's a sandbox, we figure out what the players want... City adventure, mystery, creepy Halloween, wilderness, traditional dungeon crawl? I'm just the referee who sets up the playground, it's up to you guys to tell your story. I'd like to have 4 players. Actually, I'd like to rotate playing so we have 3 -5 people playing each week. That way, you can play a few weeks in a row and take time off as needed, someone else might play every other week, or whatever works best for each player. This way, we end up with different characters of different levels playing together each week or every other (or third) week as it suits each of the players. A guest coming in to play a NPC for a session is also acceptable. It fits my perspective of running a sandbox and my OD&D/1st Edition AD&D background. Unfortunately, video is required. You don't have to run it the entire game, please turn it off while you scanarfle a snack and fart afterwards, but we need to confirm you aren't a 12y/o jumping into an adult game. By "adult" game, I don't mean pervy stuff, but we're grownups and sometimes a clever sexual innuendo can be a funny joke. I certainly endorse vulgar descriptions of violence during combat scenes, according to what the players are comfortable with. And it's helpful to everyone to see who we're playing with. Are you ready? NO! I said, ARE... YOU... READY?!?!?!?!?!
