[LFP][5E][SATURDAY][EST] Looking for 5 players for a weekend game

Long ago a cataclysmic war between the mortal races and the forces of the hells and the abyss took place. The mortal's races won but paid a heavy price but in the end achieved victory.  This war and event shaped the way most races, especially humans viewed magic. Magic originates from the demon-filled abyss and spreads throughout the world, and spell casters manipulate these winds to make their arcane effects. However, magic can be chaotic and dangerous due to its origins,  and summon demons by mistake, cause illness, or even open a rift directly to the abyss itself.  Many societies recognize the dangers of magic and put strict limits on its usage. So many spell casters must work in secret, for fear of being called a witch or a warlock and being persecuted.  Magic may also have an affect of a persons psyche or body, causing madness and mutations.  The only exception to magic is that of divine magic. Divine magic is a gift directly from the god/goddess the follower worships. Thus it is deemed safe and does not originate from the abyss and most of the negative side affects do not apply.  The story will start with a group of adventures tasked with investigating an abandoned/ruined village. Disturbing reports have come from the village of villagers going mad, and most of the village is missing.  The last 2 witch hunters who departed have yet to return, so the church is forced to look for aid in adventurers.  This is a dark fantasy world to keep in mind while all races are allowed, not all races are welcomed by each other. The campaign is meant to be a challenging and serious campaign with roleplaying being a significant part. But the exact balance of gameplay elements will be discussed between the DM and players at session 0. There will be some homebrew rules such as removing your armor at camp to make traveling in the wilderness more dangerous, a new death save system, and possibly lingering injuries (depending on how the party feels about them) . If you're interested reach out/post below with a character idea and backstory as well as a description of yourself as a player.
Hi there! I am interested in joining! My name is Leeann I am 26 and I teach drawing at a University, I have been playing/dming for about 5 years, but I had to take a year off to finish grad school.  my character ideas: - Tiefling female cleric, likely a neutral good type character - Tiefling female ranger, likely a thief of some kind.  my discord is  tieflingmom.
Hi, I'm Caitlin. I'm 32, I haven't played in a very long time. I used to play with a group, but people moved and life went on. character ideas, are  1. An elf rogue who had a friend disappear in the area and is trying to find out what happened to them/save them.
Hi, I'm Nas, 25, VA => TX. It's been a while since I've played. I've been DMing for a long time. My character is the type to brood while warming up at the campfire, or to calmly deflect the attacks of an enemy that is clearly weaker than him, rather than squash them.  - A black male human fighter that draws his energy from some outside force - A dude with a puppy
Hi names Jordan, 24 from UK. Currently looking for a long term game, I'm experienced in 5e and love RP so this to me sounds fantastic as I love to make deep character backgrounds. I'm quite a serious player but also try have a laugh where suitable with the group. I tend to be the more darker edgy type of PC who is normally secretive and tends to act more with actions rather than words. That being said I do try to have a sharp tongue when playing these type of characters. So with that in mind here's what I'm thinking - Gloom stalker Shadar-Kai ranger (or if u don't allow Shadar-Kai as ik some DM's don't like them) then Wood elf That's all I have for ideas right now off the top of my head but if I am successful I will be sure to come up with more ideas. Also if you required or had space I do also have 2 friends that would enjoy this game too but if not that's no problem. Also the only other possible issue I have is that I would require the sessions to start around 8.30-9PM GMT as this is the time my kids go to sleep. Thanks for Ur turn

Hello, you can call me Jake or Jazer. I'm 29 and in the GMT zone. I've been playing TTRPGs for a few years now but they've mostly be light RP mostly combat. I'd like to join something more thematic and involved in the RP aspect. I've played Starfinder, Pathfinder 2E, and D&D 5E as a player and a little experience as a DM in my Homebrew world. I'm a pretty easy going character. I never rage or get upset at dice rolls and when things don’t go my way. I actually like when things take a turn because that's what makes the story interesting! I feel I have a pretty good hold on the rules but may need some reminders here and there and I never mind being corrected. Character Ideas: I'd really like to learn about the world first and create a character/backstory that has a little flavor from the homebrew world if possible. I'll play anything as I enjoy building many characters. Below I have a ranger idea since I've played that style the least. -Aarakocra Ranger (Can remove fly speed if considered OP, I understand): A humble hero of his people in his minor village, he has set out for greater things by representing his people, but leaving his home and facing the real world may prove to be more difficult and shocking than he was made to believe. Will he continue as the virtuous do-gooder his people grew to love or have to change his ways for the worse to make it in the harsh world? Discord: Jazer#6550
Hello there, you can call me Kyran or just Ky and I'm really interested in joining this campaign. I'm 20 with a good 4 or so years of experience however, none of those games have had as serious of a tone as this game and I'm looking to join something like this as I've been wanting to be in a more serious roleplay heavy game for a while now. My TTRPG experiences come as being both a player and occasional DM in D&D 5E. As a player I typically enjoy playing interesting characters rather than ones that are min-maxed or most optimal for combat. I usually play characters who are more social and friendly but depending on setting and current party makeup I can easily change Ideas, especially since it gives me chances to experiment with new character writing and roleplay scenarios. While I do have my preferences for characters and playstyles I'd like to think that I'm pretty flexible for whatever the party and setting require. Here are my current character ideas (Backstory and details will most likely be expanded as I learn more about the setting and world in session 0, all ideas are flexible): - A half-elf sorcerer with plans on multitasking them into a cleric. They would've grown up with fear of their own magical abilities and the magic of others. However, they wouldn't view it as something that is evil, rather they fear it for the possible side effects that can be caused to him and others. Is very hesitant any time he uses magic. Involvement with party would be his desire to investigate the village and see if it was magical side effetcs that caused the reports or an unexplained phenomena. (Neutral good) - A Human Rogue who isn't your typical Rouge. They'd work more as an Indiana Jones type, exploring ruins and tombs to acquire lost or hidden relics for whoever pays them the best price. Weather that be historians, academic institutions or nobles he'll do his best to retrieve it. His involvement with the party could be he was hired to investigate the village by a family member of someone who lived there or some king of higher power hoping his rogue expertise could help find them an answer.
