GURPS setup (particularly import characters from outside Roll20)

I have no doubt that I'm missing something obvious. I'm trying to set up a GURPS game for the D&D group I'm in, but I'm having trouble finding a way to import character sheets into Roll20 from either GCA5 or GCS. All the posts relating to the topic seem to be years old with no resolution or broken links to solutions(?). Are there any GURPS players out there that could point this fossil in the right direction? Thanks in advance.

I'm not a GURPS player so can't speak to that sheet. But the vast majority of sheets don't support imports from outside the game. You might have to fill in a character sheet manually.

By the way, there used to be a deciated GURPS thread. If it's still active, asking in there will proably get a response from the sheet's maintainers. If it's posisble, they'll be able to tell you how to do it.

Hi Michael I took at look at the GURPS 4th Edition sheet for you, and located the place you're meant to do the imports, see screen shots below. The character sheet itself implies that the GCA4 import is deprecated, although it does not say it does not work as such. As GiGs surmised, there is a related thread as well as a wiki. Here are the links: GURPS Thread   (last post 1 week ago) GURPS Roll20 Wiki I suggest you go those links and have a read, hopefully you can gather further information there, or have a play with the import function on the character sheet.

I thought for a moment that I was on a winner, but after exporting a sample character from CGA5 and then trying to import same into my game it kept giving me errors. Apparently json doesn't like the export format? " Invalid JSON Data. Unexpected token 'N', "Name: Bhaz"... is not valid JSON"  I've obviously done something wrong, but followed the instructions as given, so I'm lost again. At this rate I may just throw my hands up and go back to noughts and crosses... MEW

Could you post the JSON (or whatever it is) here that you are trying to import? I'll take a look. Unfortunately I do not own GCA myself (yet ....) so cannot produce this myself to test with it. NB: When posting, please format it as "Code".
