[LFP] 5e Weeknights OR Mornings (USA/Aus Friendly Times)

Hi folks! I always look for time first when I LFG, so let's get that out of the way first. I'm in UTC +7, so that's why this part is a bit muddled. Also I don't want players from around the world to shy away because the time is in EST or whatever. Any and all are welcome! However, I live in the tropics, so I don't know where to start with daylight savings. You'll have to add/subtract those hours from what I have posted below. My availability: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I am free all day from UTC 00:00 until 17:00 Tuesday and Thursday I'm free from UTC 13:30 until 17:00 Potential start times in EST/AEST: EST 8am Monday-Friday EST 8pm Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday AEST 11pm Monday-Friday AEST 11am Monday, Wednesday, Friday About me and general guidelines: So, I'm looking to start my career as a GM. I'd like to get a nice, easy going game running during the week. I want to start with the new 5th edition, but depending on response, I'd be willing to use another rule set. I'm a chilled out guy, but I take my gaming seriously. I'll be there every week, multiple days if that's desired, so you should as well. I don't care if you are an old hat or a bumbling newb, I just ask that you be kind to everyone else (at least ooc) and reliable (at least tell us you can't make it before hand etc). That being said, I will be the bumbling first time GM, so this will be a no pressure environment with very little expectations (I'm expecting to have fun, learn more about GMing, and hopefully make some new friends). I don't want to set a minimum age, but if you are a younger player, please bring your A game. Tech stuff: I'll try to use as much of the fancy roll20 stuff as I can. Voice will be required. I prefer TS3, but I'm willing to use whatever is common to the group we end up with. In order of preference: Teamspeak3, mumble, raidcall, hangouts, ventrillo, skype. I have no camera, so you don't have to have one either. I do have a twitch.tv channel and OBS, so if desired, we can broadcast the sessions. Campaign: I'd like it to be free flowing and PC driven. I will be drawing up a continent map with cities and localized flora/fauna. There might be things worth investigating, problems that need solving, but it's up to you to find out about them. I want to flesh out your characters and watch them evolve. I want to start at lvl 1 and play until your characters die of old age. Maybe that's a bit much, but I do want a long term weekly game with no planned end date. I don't care about good vs evil. There must be some reasonable explanation for why the party members are together, but beyond that I don't mind any sort of bad news bears, mismatched, rag tag bunch. Your actions will determine the alignment and reputation of your party, and, hopefully, I will devise cunning and thoughtful ramifications therein. There will be a lot of improvisation and free flow narrative, which I think many would dissuade me from as a first time GM, but I want to make the game that I want. I want us to tell our own story. But, if we are heavy in the RP and taking it easy, the mechanics shouldn't get in the way I don't think, so it should be fine. ........ Well, that's about it. Please feel free to post some feedback or interest here. PM is also OK. I'll begin designing the world and creating some political and economic structures in the meantime. For now I just want to gauge interest at those general time windows and see what people think. If there's enough interest and times in common, I will make the campaign and link to the LFG page here. If interest is prompt, then so shall I be. Meaning we can start this week if the response is good. Thanks for reading!

Hello, Sent a PM. Also, for potential players, here is a time conversion site: http://home.hiwaay.net/~krcool/Astro/moon/gmt/ In US: From the last Sunday in October through the last Saturday in March standard time is noted as Central Standard Time (CST UTC-6), (EST UTC-5), (MST UTC-7) or (PST UTC-8). From the last Sunday in March through the Last Saturday in October daylight savings time is noted as Central Daylight Time (CDT UTC-5), (EDT UTC-4), (MDT UTC-6) or (PDT UTC-7) which is one hour added to standard time. I could do: EST 8am Monday-Friday, but I sometimes have medical appointments in the morning or afternoon, typically Wednesday or Thursday. I will typically know about them a week or more in advance. EST 8pm Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Sure no problem.

I'm from Spain, and I can play on your tuesday and Thurday slots. Starting net week. In fact, except Wednesday, I can be there pretty much any day after 12:30 GMT/UTC As a fellow GM I'd advice you to start with a straightforward campaign the first sessions so the group gets to know each other, then set them free. It will also give you mileage. Start small. I don't mind 5E, although I've never played it, Can definitely adapt. Send me a PM if you want me in.

I would love to join in, I've really been enjoying 5e thus far. I'm good with EST 8am Monday-Friday EST 8pm Tuesday, Thursday, just can't do Sunday because that's when I run my 5e campaign. Let me know if you wan't some character ideas, also I'm 26, have skype, team speak, a headset, and really want to play! DRAGON NOISE!!
Heyy, I would love to join as a PC. My availability mon - fri evening is wide open. Voice chat is not a problem and I am really looking forward to 5e. John
I have time 8pm EST Tue/Thu. I am already in a Sunday game so if other times work more ideally for the majority of other players I am OK with sitting this one out. If it ends up that there is room for me and the times work then count me in. I have been eager to get my character concept out beyond third level. A Half-Elf Charlatan Arcane Trickster Rogue who disguises himself as an aristocrat to avoid being detected by a powerful adversary who got fleeced by a group he was a major part of. The deal went bad and he never got paid his cut of the scam so he has been on the run ever since. He has consorted to cheating at gambling to pay for his rich lifestyle that his false identity demands. After all no one would suspect who the real character was underneath his mask of deception...
Thanks for the quick response everyone! Seems as though it won't be too much of a problem to get a few players in at those times, so I'll go ahead and progress to the next step. If you PM'd me expect a response soon. I'll link the campaign here once I get everything rolling. As far as time, everyone but Pablo can do Tues/Thurs nights. I'll use Tuesday 8pm EDT for now. Later we can make changes if needed.
works good for me. If you need help setting up let me know, and i'll assist if I can.
Sent you a message regarding joining your adventures.
PM sent. Also wondering what you plan to use on character creation ability score.
Is there still room?

The fact that 3 hours ago he said he'd link the campaign to people who applied, leads me to think he found applicants who applied before 3 hours ago. Int +3
I think he meant once he gets more material ready, but that's at a guess.

I doubt it, since he brings up talking about times available and working it out with previous applicants "As far as time, everyone but Pablo can do Tues/Thurs nights." Who is everybody and Pablo?..........Oh, they're previous applicants! Makes since now doesn't it.
Hey guys, sorry for the confusion. I still haven't created the campaign (on roll20) so that's what I meant by it coming soon. And I will link it here in this thread. That should make it easier to see how many are in and how many we need, etc. Just to be sure though, I'm still looking for players , so keep the PMs coming if you'd like to join us. 5-6 would be a nice party, but I'm thinking starting with 6-8 would be nice in case some flake out. I'd say there are at least 3 spots left at this point. I'm a little concerned about Tuesday night though. I just got a lead on some work, so I might be busy on my Wednesday mornings, which would mean we'd have to do Thursday instead. I hope that doesn't put anyone out. I should find out either way in the next couple days. For characters, I was thinking we'd all roll up, though if you wanted to use something stock from the handbook that would be fine as well. I'm not in to point buys usually, feels like min/maxing to me. I don't want anything weird ported from other rule sets, but the story and world will allow for rarer races. Tomorrow I should have everything set up. Maybe not quite ready to begin, but I think starting this Thursday wouldn't be unrealistic.
Right on, I'm good for Thursday.

Hey, I'm a DnD noob, but am familiar with the basics, I'd be willing to join in. I'm available Sat. Eve, M-Th. earlier (before 4) and Fri. All day. I'm in the Eastern Time Zone. Just Send me a pm if there is still room!
I can work with Thursday, no problems!
As promised, here is the url for the LFG page: https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/17031/the-forgo... I sent invites to the folks that were definite so far. Still might be 1 more slot, especially if I think you'll be a good fit.
