If i put for example a fireball template on the map, even if it is set to "back", any characters in that area thier status bars cannot be seen by the players.  I can see them as the DM tho.

A screenshot wont help as it works fine for me but the players cant see status bars.  The spell templates are the 5e spell templates from this site.  I cant remember name tho.

Your players can come and post the screenshot.  The screenshot will help diagnose and replicate the problem.
