Hi! My two buddies and I are looking for some new people to game with regularly. Here’s some info about us and what we’re looking for. LGBTQ+ friendly: Yes. Bigotry: Hard no. That includes (in no particular order) misogyny, anti-Semitism, homophobia, racism, anti-trans, ableism, and anti-fatness. Ages: We are mid 30s to early 50s. Please be mature and kind. Timezone and scheduling: EST and CST. No no-shows. Cancellations with advance notice (but sometimes life happens). We generally game on one, regularly scheduled evening per week between Sunday and Thursday (inclusive). We’ve been known to game on weekends, occasionally. Our sessions usually last 3-3.5 hours, depending on the number of players. Jobs: We’ve got ‘em. Basically 9-5ers. Tone: We are currently leaning toward lighter tones and adventure-driven stories. There’s enough darkness in the world already right now. Let’s fight against some frickin’ evil. Roleplay experience: 15-25 years each. We’ve been gaming together for about four years, having played Burning Wheel, Kids on Bikes, Masks, Fate, and HERO. We individually have experience with other games, like Torchbearer, Forger in the Dark stuff, Vampire, and D&D. Two of us have GM experience with a variety of systems. Gaming style: We’re heavy on the roleplay and enjoy depth of character. That isn’t to say we don’t engage with the mechanics (I love mechanics), but they’re there to help us roleplay. We don’t always speak in character, and sometimes we summarize dialogue rather than speak it all out. System preferences: Our favorite is Burning Wheel. We didn’t care much for Fate but loved HERO. A good group takes precedence over the right system. Characteristics of a good group include a willingness to try new systems and a willingness to listen to players’ preferences. Homebrew: Worlds? Yes. Stories? Yes. Systems? No. That includes hacks. If you’re interested in knowing more, DM me with some info about yourself! Looking forward to chatting!
