[LFP][5e][18+] Grim Hollow @ 8pmEST to 11pmEST on Fridays

Welcome prospective adventurers, my name is RangerPirate, I am a new DM along with my Co-DM Lucci. While I am new to DMing I have been playing 5e for 5 years. We plan to begin with the adventure: The Blood Knight and the 5 Relics. Afterwards we plan to play The Citadel of the Unseen Sun module. Intermixed between these modules will include homebrew content such as; dungeons, encounters, quests, etc. We are looking for 6 applicants. Please send application here with a brief introduction of yourself, what you are looking to get out of this adventure, what sort of experience you have with playing DnD, and what sort of character concept you would want to play. We are not looking for soloplayers or main characters. We hope to recruit people who are team players. People who can handle many forms of Horror and challenging combat. In the setting of Grim Hollow; The setting of Etharis is very dark and brutal. It is a campaign not for the weak of heart. Fans of Fromsoftware games and the Witcher series will find a happy home here. Grim Hollow is set in the world of Etharis, which is a relatively small world by some standards, but rife with conflict. It's ravaged by plagues, violent superstition, and to top it off...the pantheon of gods are dead, murdered by one another in madness. Grim Hollow is explicitly a grimdark world. You have a court of vampires ruling over a kingdom shrouded in eternal night, supernatural fog covering a city-state in a swampy area, and you even have nordic vikings that inhabit the far north who spend half their year in a frozen land without sun. You have the Weeping Pox devastating some cities, with the only hint of a cure coming from suspicious plague doctors asking for high costs. Humans are monsters too, make no mistake. The gods that have either died or forsaken the world of Etharis, left behind angelic and demonic lieutenants to take their place, and they are struggling to do that. It's not all bad though, unlike some other grimdark settings and stories, the "heroes" can earn meaningful hope and win small victories for mortal-kind, through immense struggle and sometimes sacrifice. The setting of Grim Hollow offers some interesting ways to advance your character in new ways, such as: feats, spells, curses (special kind of spell), and advanced weapons (including guns!). There's also setting specific races and sub-classes in the Grim Hollow Player's Guide that you'll have access to, should you want to play one of those!
Session 0 on the 15th of September at @8pm EST provided we have enough people to begin.
Hey, I'm Mark, I'm 33, I've been DMing and playing when possible for about a year and a half. It started as a way to keep in touch with friends that's pandemic-proof and fun, but then I got hooked by the game itself. I'd love to get some time in as a player and see what a grittier campaign than what I run looks like. The character idea that came to mind when I read the details was an aasimar tempest cleric. Willing to play whatever the team needs and what fits the campaign, though.
Howdy, you may call me Clue. I have been looking for a dark fantasy game on Fridays for a while. I have been playing and DMing D&D and other TTRPG systems for almost three years and have a large amount of experience with darker tones for games. I hope to meet some interesting people and create an interesting story with them. I have a variety of characters that I can play but I prefer to pick the DM's brain about the game so I can custom-make a character to fit what the DM wants the story to be. A previous character of mine, so you can get an idea of how I build characters, was named Sevatar who was a former elf turned damphir gunslinger who enlisted into his kingdom's army for patriotic reasons and was turned into an undead. Over time he committed acts that went against his moral code and became a monster wearing sapient flesh. One day the weight of his sins broke him and he deserted from the country hoping to never go there again, knowing that he was condemning the fate of his family to death with his desertion. He wandered and became a tradesman specializing in weapon matenice and repairs. He heard a message calling for the death of his former king and he took the offer to try and absolve his many sins. My discord is clue7971 if you are interested in having me join your adventure.
Hi! You can call me Psycho! I have played in a few Grim Dark games before, and I'm thinking about joining another one so this sounds right up my ally! I prefer to play spell casters, but I have recently been interested in branching out. To many classes, to little time, but if there isn't a wizard in the party I'm your guy! If you think your interested in having me, or want to ask me any personal questions, my Discord contact is psycho_jt_
Sup! My name is hooch (he/him). I have played in a few short D&D games before with friends and want to get into a longer running game. Call of Cthulhu is one of my favorite tabletop rpg's to play and DM so this adventure sounds like a very similar experiance. That being said, when it comes to 5e I am very much a new player and hope that is okay.  I have always wanted to play warlock so that would be my preference!  discord : hoochyamama

Hey I'm Alex and I've been looking for another campaign to dive into.  I have been excited to try Grim Hollow for awhile since the Dungeon Dudes have been advertising it on their channel and would feel at home with the setting (Yes I have been a soulsborne player since the original Kingsfield and played the first Armored Core).  I've been itching for Curse of Strhad since I've completed it and this would definitely scratch the vampire slaying itch.  I've been playing for almost 4 years now and for what the concept would be is a Fighter/monk vampire slayer. I look forward to hearing from you! Discord: alexknight2005
Hey im elliott. Im 17 so i doubt i will get in but no harm to try. I love soulsborne games and have heard that grim hollow scratches that itch in the dnd format. I have played dnd for about 2 years and am dming my first campaign. My character idea is a warlock with ptsd because he was forced into a deal with his patron to save his village.
Hey there, my name is Zack and I have been playing dnd for about 5 years. I am very much a horror fan in fact all the campaigns I run have gothic or grimdark elements. Huge Bloodborne fan, and souls in general, I admire the lore and the bosses very much. I personally like building my characters off of the others players characters so they fit more together, I also am very much a role-player, and I do get invested into the world. I have an idea for a death cleric/bloodhunter named Emrys he is a drow dhampir who abby was destroyed by vampires, however I would like to detail him more for your world. If you think I would be a good part of this campaign my discord is bermoose If not then i hope you have a wonderful campaign!
Hello, I hope I am not too late! I go by either Pineapple or Seagull online and am a 27 year old American currently living in South Korea. The time for this campaign are perfect for me since you play at around 9-10am my time. I have a lot of experience as a DND player and have also been DMing one-shots for some time. I love dark-themed games, especially on hard difficulty. I am a fan of FromSoft games, an avid reader of horror novels, and a writer in my spare time. When it comes to my character I have a couple ideas, but am more than willing to tweak anything to fit the story and/or the party. I am a fan of the small monstrous races like goblin and kobold, but am more than willing to play a more vanilla race if the game doesn’t allow for that. Coming into session 0, these are my initial ideas for a character: Gutt, a kobold twilight cleric who lived deep inside a dungeon serving a dragon along with his tribe. One day, adventurer’s killed his dragon god, so now he travels the world in search of revenge, and maybe a new god. Ratt, a goblin Echo Night who makes a living scamming people by advertising himself as a ghost hunter. Ratt has never actually seen a ghost, and little does he know—his lies are catching up to him. Hoorihohodemi, or Hoori for short, a (insert race here) monk who was banished from his monastery for engaging in illicit activities. He is now torn between earning their forgiveness or getting revenge.
Hello, I'm Marty. I've been playing 5e since I was 12 (currently 19). I'm hoping for a fun and thrilling game that allows me to indulge in my favourite pastime. I want to play a human warlock who made a deal with Levistus in order to escape his execution and now does his bidding until such time he can repay Levistus. He's a fairly optimistic person looking for adventure in between tasks from his patron and currently looking for a new family as he can never see his original family again.
Hey, I'm Nick I am looking for a darker style game that grim hollow can provide I have not played it before but looking forward to it. I have been playing 5e for the last 6 years and have even DMd a few times for friends. For a character concept Im looking into playing a Samurai fighter but honestly am open to playing anything to kind of help round out the whole group.
Hey my name is Casey, nice and easy to remember. I’ve playing paying dnd for maybe like 5 years and weekly since the pandemic started. I do like goofing around in a game but know how frustrating dms can find it after a while so I make sure to keep turned down. I hate picking my class, race, and backstory before the group has time to discuss. To me they just feels like people have what they wanna play and don’t care if it fits.  All in all I’m a mostly laid back guy but also pretty good at a lot of the dnd stuff. Hit me up with what you’re thinking.  ✌️
