We need 1-2 more mature, experienced, colourful characters to fill out a small gaming group looking to have fun in a challenging, fun filled homebrew campaign. I am an experienced DM who very much enjoys an old school feel to the game. If you like rolling 3d6 for ability scores, embrace critical fails and can handle a lingering injury or two, but can make up for all of that with creativity and style, we may have a seat at the table for you. We are looking for players who can commit weekly, Thursday 7pm EST (ya, I know, I don't watch it), for a 2-3 hour session. About the campaign Starting at level 1, the introductory campaign is set in a small town in Faerun where the heroes stumble upon a dastardly plot that grows in complexity and gravity. It is a sandbox that will carry the players to mid level at which time we will go where the story leads us. I use a lot of house rules I believe add realism to the game, most of which are not what you would characterize as 'player friendly', but I am fair and am always open to changes. Oddly enough I do NOT welcome player homebrews (classes, races, etc.). I just find they are power gamers looking to shake off the yoke of the rule set. Convince me otherwise, as I said, I'm fair and always open to changes. We are adults, playing an adult game, with adult themes, using adult language. I'm looking to run a game that prioritizes points of interest. Boring travel time when nothing interesting happens? GONE. Pointless random encounters. NOPE. It's your turn in combat and you can't decide what to do, I'll move on, you let me know when you are ready. Players that will fit well with this group are... able to start off humble and grow into greatness through deeds and decision making easy to get along with playing characters that are easy to get along with can shrug off failure or laugh and carry on with a great story emotionally intelligent enough to know when to joke/laugh and when to respect the seriousness of the situation willing to share the spotlight with others, knows when it is their turn to shine and when to hold the mirror directing light onto others can live in a fantasy realm for 2-3 hours without a cell phone, distraction or discussing pop culture creative enough to portray a hero that is at least as interesting or entertaining as they are effective putting in at least 1/10 of the effort the DM is, knowing your character, knowing basic rules, being prepared and organized, etc. If you got this far in reading the post you are a unicorn in the modern RPG world and I would be interested in meeting you. To initiate this social interaction please DM me, here or in Discord, jelico_ , and list all the things I can count on you to do to make our game more enjoyable for the DM and other players. List as many as you want and I shall get back to those who sound fun to game with! Thanks,
