[LFDM] [D&D 5E] [APAC East] [Paid] Group of Five Players Seek DM for New Campaign

Hello Roll20 community, Five players are on the lookout for a DM for a D&D 5E campaign. Most of us have been playing virtually as a group for over a year and are really keen to continue on into a new campaign together. We are due to complete our long-running campaign next month and our current DM is moving to an unworkable time zone. Some details about our group The five of us all reside in APAC time zones - East Coast Australia, Japan, and China Our ideal session start time would be weekly Thursday evenings around 8 pm AEDT (UTC +11) We would each pay our DM for each session (offered per player arrangement, price negotiable) All of us are intermediate to expert players We get along well and will routinely hang out and chat after sessions (not a requirement of the DM though) What kind of game and DM are we looking for? We’re a mixed bunch but all favour an RP-heavy playstyle We like a good mix of combat and social interactions We like to contribute to the wider narrative through our character backstories and RP actions We have some campaign settings we’d prefer over others (WotC, 3P, or homebrew) but are willing to work with a new DM to find a good fit for all We’re looking for a DM who wants to build a world, story, and epic adventure with us We’d look to start sometime in December or even January Interested DM candidates can reply here and possibly later meet our group in Discord to check us out
Hi, I'd like to apply for the position. I have been a DM for roughly 3 years now and I specialize in running dark fantasy narrative games, but am comfortable doing whatever. The primary system I run is D&D5E and a couple more along with that. Genuinely I'm really excited for the opportunity because of the last section of your post detailing what youre looking for in a DM. While I feel like I qualify for all requirements listed, it is the parts about your group liking to contribute to the wider narrative with your characters individual stories that I feel I can deliver on the most. If you're interested in talking more then please feel free to send me a message on here. Hope to hear from you soon!
Hey, that time works for me and I want to note I'm also am an experienced GM. Currently running a fun Eberron game and I'd be willing to talk about a setting or campagin world you prefer. But hey here are some reviews of me! https://startplaying.games/gm/6180c2539a9cc400083df4c5
Hey hey! That sounds awesome! I would love to apply. DM me anytime.
Hello there! This sounds great! I am a new professional GM looking for players and you sound like a great bunch! If interested please message me here or on discord - Shyercaulfield. I will be very happy and enthusiastic to run a game for you! My specialty is running large-scale games with gods, artifacts and epic battles. Here is my profile link: https://startplaying.games/gm/7thsealover Thanks and hope to hear from you soon!
Hi there! Definitely interested in this position. I'm a pro DM/GM of approaching 5 years now, having done it as a hobby for several years before that. Beyond the 11.4k hours I've clocked on Roll20 (most of them running 5e), I also bring two unique homebrew settings to the table; a more traditional fantasy setting called Astion where players have been shaping the course of history for about eight years IRL, and Ondoren, a post-cataclysmic fantasy setting that's been in play for the past two. As a firm believer in RP-heavy, character-driven games that are more than just hack-n-slash dungeon runs, I'd be excited for the opportunity to co-author an epic tale with you all!
Thank you all for your interest. The number of responses was unexpected by my group. I know some of you have already followed up by DM. My group has come up with a number of questions we need to ask each of you to form our decision for the next steps. I will DM you all individually. Thank you.
I kindly request any new applicants to also answer our 12 player questions: 1. What’s your proposed cost per session? (assuming per player) 2. What time zone do you live in? 3. Does our proposed session time of Thursday evenings for APAC East time zones work for you? (Thursday 8 pm AEDT (UTC +11)) 4. What’s your DM style with regard to play ratio (combat/exploration/social)? 5. What is your typical session length (with breaks)? 6. What module(s) would you most prefer to DM? 7. Assuming you are interested in it, how much homebrew (0-100%) do you plan to incorporate in the campaign? 8. How do you normally incorporate player backstories into the narrative? 9. Do you have any special house rules you bring to the table? 10. How lenient/strict are you on particular RAW? 11. What are your rules around character creation? 12. Do you have anything upcoming planned that would result in a hiatus of sessions that we should know about?
Hello TNim, the time you guys want to play is perfect for me. I really hope I'm still in time 1. All my games are the same price: 12,5 USD/player/session 2. I live in GMT -3. 3. The time you're proposing is perfect for me. I prefer to run games in the morning, that's 7 am for me. I also don't work on Thursdays and Friday mornings and I was trying to set up a game at very time. 4. Combat 30/Roleplay 30/Social 40 5. I usually run games with 3 or 4 hours. But, assuming that your proposed time is very good for me, we can overpass that time in a boss fight or some very special roleplay moments. I usually don't program breaks 6. I really like Storm Kings Thunder, I DM it trying to make it very character driven. But if you've already played this module, I was thinking about Tyranny of Dragons. I'm also open to suggestions, but I must say that I'm way more confident DMing modules set in the SwordCoast 7. I usually incorporate a lot of homebrew content in the campaigns, they are NEVER the same when I DM them for a second time. I like to make my campaigns more character driven 8. I like to incorporate their BGs in the main campaign. I don't like the idea of making specific arcs to work on that 9. Just these two, but they're, of course, negotiable 9.1. When you fall unconscious, you also get 1 exhaustion point 9.2. I like to use the new DND exhaustion system that is less harsh and goes from 1 to 10 9.3. I'm open to new house rules the party is used to 10. I'm flexible. I just like to have it clear what are we following. By default I use the rules as written, but the game is ours, if you want to, we can change whatever you guys want 11.1. Point Buy 11.2. Health is average or maximum, depending on what you want. I just don't like the randomness of rolling health every level 12. No, I just don't want to play on Christmas and New Year's eve. But I think that in this time we won't have hiatuses
I would love to run a campaign for you and your group. I have over 15 years exp in being a DM/GM. Currently stuck working from home so have lots of free time to work on the world. I have some custom story lines set up already as well. Please feel free to reach out to me and lets chat!

Does our proposed session time of Thursday evenings for APAC East time zones work for you? (Thursday 8 pm AEDT (UTC +11)) yes 4. What’s your DM style with regard to play ratio (combat/exploration/social)? Homebrew created NPCs for max storyline RP. I love to integrate players backgrounds into the story rp as well. Combat as needed and as sought out. My cities are massive with rp integration. 5. What is your typical session length (with breaks)? 5-7 hours 6. What module(s) would you most prefer to DM? 5E homebrew but I mostly enjoy running my own created adventures. 7.
