Makes it very annoying to go through a dungeon and place doors when I have to use the scroll bar or switch back to the pointer tool.

Hi DM Steve,  I can confirm that the middle mouse button does not function while placing doors but I am not sure that this is a bug or just a design feature. I suggest reaching out to the Devs via the Help Center .  In the meantime, you can scroll around via the scroll wheel and shift+scroll wheel.
