Don't link multiple instances of a monster via hp. Make this automatic, not manual.

The fastest way to populate a dungeon map with monsters of the same sort is to set the first one up to match the character sheet and then copy and paste the sucker. But that makes it that any change to one token changes it for all the other tokens of the same sort. Granted, we can, after setting the hp correctly, re-assign the hp bar to "none" and then  copy and paste the token...but this isn't in the least intuitive and adds needless extra steps. Please just make each additional token on a page of a monster/npc be a new instance with its own hp right off the bat. Please.

Hi JW the Untitled,  The problem with that is there is no way for the system to know that it is a monster or NPC that should or should not be it's own instance.  Some unique NPCs exist on multiple maps and health should carry over, like a PC's health. Some NPCs are PC controlled and are treated the same as PCs for health.  This is really on the DM to set, not Roll20.  Never set the bar to HP unless it is for a unique creature, such as a unique NPC or PC.
Like what you have said, I tend to fill an HP attribute for a "named NPC" and set it in the drop down to the bar to make it persistent. My first thought to address your suggestion was to add a "Persistent" check box next to the Bars, but really that would just take a step out and prevent things like Token_mod for making dynamic changed to bar-attribute linked things. Perhaps someone has other ideas?
