New "Vault" Seems Incapable of Importing Characters

Trying to import to vault so I can move to another session, & all it does is ask me to make a new character. Is my only reason for a Pro subscription now gone?

Hi Jordo J. V! As a Pro subscriber, you have access to the far superior Transmogrifier . At least for moving things between games. As for importing to Characters, here are the instructions . If you want to continue using the old Vault while it still exists, it is still functional and can be found here .
Transmogrifier solves my issue. I prefer the Vault format, but I can see why folks might prefer the Transmogrifier. Thanks for the info.

Is my only reason for a Pro subscription now gone?  The "Import Character" button ONLY shows if at least 1 character is in the new Characters-Overlay. IF you want to use the Vault instead of the Transmogrifier, just switch to the old Vault and import your characters there...

Personally, I'd rather not have to make a new character sheet for a system I don't use before I can use the new Characters vault (I didn't see Savage Worlds as an option)   . I'm not even sure if it will work for sheets not listed in the create new page(again, only using Savage Worlds). Not going to waste time trying to figure it out now that I know the transmogrifier is functional & reliable.

Seems like an oversight... ;-( This has been brought up previously over on the official Announcing Roll20 Characters! thread. It might help to comment about the new Characters section there. Cheers
Just to point out the instructions don't work that are linked. Currently you get to a page that shows none of your old characters that were in the vault. There is no import button and if you click the create a new character button it fails......so the only way to import seems to be to go to the old vault and do it there. I really don't like this new thing so far, also transmogrifier only works if you own the game that you are transfering to and from as far as I know or have seen. If you are playing in a westworld type game where each GM has his own board and you need to move your character from one to the other then it doesn't help :(

Can you post a screen shot of what you are seeing? If your Vault characters are showing in the Vault , but not in Characters , it might be a good idea to file a  Help Center Request .
Hey Joro J. V,  Thanks for bringing this up. It is something we've heard a few times in a few different places, but it helps to hear it again.  We want the new Roll20 Characters experience to be easy to use for all the reasons you use to use the Vault and this is one place that we accidently missed. Essentially, when you don't have any characters then you are redirected to a marketing landing page. This is a problem when you want to import and not create. We're hoping to fix this by not redirecting you to that marketing landing page and instead just communicating under "My Characters" that you don't currently have any characters. But this will give you access to either create or import. In your case, this will allow you to import and move the character as normal. This is something we're working on as well as a number of other fixes that will make the new Roll20 Characters experience more smooth for people looking to use it the same as the old vault. Thank you again for your feedback. I'll let you know when we have this fixed. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hey Jordo, Just wanted to follow up here. We fixed this problem by NOT redirecting you away from the "My Characters" list when you have no characters. Instead, we just show a simple message that you have no characters. This should give you access to the Import button even when you don't have any characters. Sorry about that and thanks for the feedback!

Sorry about that and thanks for the feedback! I still don't see an import option. That said, now that I figured out the transmogrifier, I can just set up a session as the Vault & use it as a clearinghouse.
As said in the Announcement Thread: You have to create a character first before you are able to import characters... WHY not just make a second button to IMPORT an existing character?! (Or rather, why not make the IMPORT BUTTON visible by default?) Andrew Searles said: Hey Jordo, Just wanted to follow up here.
