Compendium Issues with DnD, Everyday Heroes and Esper Genesis

1702967517

Edited 1702968355
I am having a problem with both Everyday Heroes and Esper Genesis compendiums showing up in my games. I know to turn these off in the compendium settings, but entries are still showing up occasionally in-game. That's annoying. But even more so is that outside of the game, under the Tools dropdown, where I cannot control whether these show up or not. I try to look up a skill list and I have no idea whether I am clicking on DnD, Everyday Heroes or Esper Genesis entries.  Am I missing something? Is there a way to turn these off outside of the game? I did not buy either Everyday Heroes or Esper Genesis. They just showed up as a freebie for being a pro subscriber. If I had known it was going to show up this much in my compendium searches, I would not have claimed them. But since they are both listed as 5e compendiums, they show up in DnD no matter what.  We seriously need some way of archiving or even straight up deleting compendiums we don't use or want.  Roll20, please find a way to tag games outside of the DnD 5e materials as whatever they need to be re-designated as.  Thank you, I hope you can fix this somehow.

Please turn off the new compendium in-game and check to see if the problem exists with the old compendium.
I have the exact same problem with Esper Genesis intruding upon my compendium.  The problem exists in both the old compendium and the new compendium
Yes, I am getting Esper and Everyday no matter which, new or old. Again, we need to be able to filter it out outside of the game too.

charles d, Your best at this point is to file a bug report with the Devs via the Help Center .
Gauss said: Your best at this point is to file a bug report with the Devs via the Help Center .  Already did.  I'm just waiting for the devs to fix it now.

This problem was also reported some time ago (at least with Esper Genesis), so I hope this brings it to the forefront again.
I am having this problem right now as well and would also appreciate a way to delete compendiums I do not want.
I, too, am having this problem. I also  filed a bug report, so hopefully that will add to the attention it gets from the devs.

For those who are having trouble finding the compendium settings, here are some instructions with screen caps: On the campaign's page, click settings -> game settings. this brings you to a new page. scroll down to compendium settings, then click it to expand the options Scroll down further, and you'll see an alphabetical list of all applicable products to your game system. Click on Esper Genesis Core Manual to disable it. You will need to do this for each game, unfortunately. You can't disable it for all games automatically.
Nobody here is trying to find the settings, the settings do not work. Read the forum.  I use these compendiums to run tabletop games and there is no way to get rid of Esper Genesis or Everyday Heroes from those searches. The new compendium interface in the game is broken and does not filter Esper Genesis or Everyday Heroes out of searches. Roll20's response has simply been "Don't use the new compendium features." They cannot fix the out-of-game stuff.  The only solution to this is to contact Roll20 and have them remove Esper Genesis and Everyday Heroes from your account. I have no idea if they are good games or not, but I know I will never look at them because of this issue. I highly recommend not buying any 5e products on Roll20 that you would not want showing up in your DnD games. They are incapable of filtering these games out.

I'd suggest giving it another try. I had an in-game hunt this morning for any Esper Genesis content and came up empty. The new Compendium still has some issues (I've turned it off several times), but that's probably why it remains an opt-in.  If you do come up with a search that comes up with something that should not be there, could you post it so others can verify (and Forum Champions can catalog and pass on)?

That is the web-based compendium, not the in-game. There is no way to filter your own purchases through the web interface. (Unless it is a case of your only access to it is through it being shared to you from someone else's game--i.e. you don't own it, but they do and have shared it with you in a game) I meant a screen shot like the one you posted earlier in the thread, from the in-game compendium.
If they can't filter these out of the web-based compendiums, Roll20 has no business trying to use the out-of-game access as a selling point. We can just do all tabletop and purchases through DnD Beyond if that's not going to work here. There are 2 non-DnD game systems that are gumming up the DnD works here. They need to be redesignated as something besides DnD 5e or removed until they can fix it.

Hi Jeri, I cannot duplicate these results. I have Esper Genesis turned off in my games and do not come up with those returns on in-game searches. Here are some things to try: Even though you only own the core manual, try specifically excluding all books from Alligator Entertainment (there are three). It is possible that not having the others specifically excluded—even though you don't own them—may be affecting your in-game searches.  Try deleting cache and cookies. Though you have turned off the core manual, it is possible your browser is holding onto an old setting. If you try these and are still seeing Esper Genesis results in your game, file a  Help Center Request  and request team member help. Here in the forum, it is primarily community help. The team has tools that may be able to track down why you are getting EG results in-game. As for the out of game compendium (let's call it the Web Compendium for brevity), that works differently. There you are interacting at an account level, not at a game level. You will always see everything owned by your account. There is no game associated with it, and thus no way to filter. There are some exceptions to this: You players will always see the sources that you have unlocked for them in a game you share. I.e., if you own Product A and Product B in the 5e compendium, but only share Product A in the game you run for them, they will only see Product A in the web compendium. If they happen to own Product B themselves, they will also see Product B. The web compendium shows everything that your account owns, or that has been shared to you in a game you are a member of. If you never, ever want to see Esper Genesis anywhere (or Everyday Heroes, both of which are actually 5e games), you can file a  Help Center Request  and ask to have it removed from your account.
In the Web Compendiums you have your choice of different compendium collections, just like the different in-game compendiums. When I click on Call of Cthulhu logo, I only see the CoC compendiums. When I click on the Dungeons and Dragons logo, I see Esper Genesis and Everyday Heroes mixed in there. Filtering it out there should be no different. It's how the compendiums are tagged and grouped. Those two games should not be in the DnD collection.  I asked to have them removed from my account.

Hi Jeri Starr,  Could you screenshot your Compendium Settings? Especially the part about Sharing?
