We are knee deep in an AD&D 2nd Edition campaign (homebrew campaign world) and I'm looking to bring in a new player who is happy to start out with a 2nd level character of their choice. 2E knowledge is not as important (or at all important really) compared with ability and willingness to attend sessions every week at the stated times. Obviously real life and breaks occur, but we play consistently and therefore some level of commitment is required. Complete newcomers to 2E are welcome as the rules can be learned and I will merrily take you through the character creation process as required. Our group are happy to show you the ropes. We currently have a dwarf cleric, human thief, human fighter and firbolg priest (yes, you read that right, a firbolg priest). Wizards, paladins, rangers, elves, gnomes, halflings would be a great addition, as would anything as exotic as, or more exotic than, a firbolg priest, but ultimately its your character/your choice! The game is classic 2E but set in a very large, gritty, sandbox homebrew world called Lore. Our group is friendly and relaxed with maybe an average level of roleplay and a high level of OS fun. A good sense of humour is definitely an advantage as we can be quite irreverent (though the campaign is definitely not comedic). We are all 40+ or thereabouts but we're happy to consider any age if the match feels right. As we're established and have been playing for some time I (the GM, Hi *waves*) will meet you for a quick one to one then there will be an intro session where you sit in without a character to begin with just so you can see if this whole thing is for you. This is a precautionary measure to ensure compatibility on both sides but mostly your side; you don't want to tie yourself into something you won't enjoy! Must be able to join a Facebook Messenger group (where we arrange sessions etc) and happy to use Google Meet, which is our established go-to for cams and audio. We use Roll20 simultaneously for maps, dice rolls, character sheets and so on. We meet once a week on Wednesdays, 8pm to 10pm GMT, so UK/European players will find us convenient. Across the big blue pond, players will need to accomodate these times somehow as we can't be flexible I'm afraid. If you've read all of the above and feel you meet the criteria, drop me a DM or reply below and I will respond in a timely fashion :-D
