"Update when Token Drop" Does not affect rotation of tokens with directional light/vision

What it says on the tin.  I'm running a deep sea exploration adventure and looking to give my players a narrow flashlight, but the feature that usually lets me be sure that players are committing movement to their vision doesn't have any affect on rotation.  I'm likely to retain control of the flashlight myself and tell the players it's a sizable prop and not a handheld device.  If I gave direct control to a player they'd just windmill spin and defeat the purpose of that narrow cone of light.

Hi Rachel M.,  I am not sure I understand. Could you provide step-by-step example to test? And screenshots of your dynamic lighting settings on the token?

Gauss -  With Update on Drop enabled, DL does not update it's view when the token is moved until it is realeased. The same is not true when a token with a limited arc of light/sight is simply spun in place. It continuously updates. That's my understanding of the issue. Hi Rachel! I don't think what you are looking for would be possible without a major overhaul of the DL system. I think your best option is to either take control as you suggest, or rely on the honor system.

Thanks Keith,  I thought that might be the case but I wanted to confirm it.
