Saddle up, cadets! It’s time to explore beyond the realm of Toril and
see the greater universe at large. Spelljamming is the only true way to
sail the Flow of Wildspace, and you’re invited! Climb aboard strange
and mystical ships and vessels, learn the ins and outs of being a crew,
and struggle against pirates, ravenous sentient meteors, and a plethora
of mind-bending monstrosities waiting to take a bite out of you.
Spelljammer Academy is one of the best ways to learn of one of
Dungeons and Dragon’s most cherished rulesets, all updated and upgraded
to 5th edition! Play as strange ooze like creatures, autonomous gnomes,
and more as you work with your companions and crew to explore the outer
reaches of space itself. In this adventure, expect:
Your adventurer will begin at level 1, and save the world at level
8; space is big however, and adventures can continue well beyond! First learn the ins and outs of Spelljamming 101, create a bond with
your crewmates, and then segue into Light of Xaryxis for a high-stakes
escapade! Explore the outer reaches of space, see fantastical planets and
asteroids and moons, and discover that a mind-flayer can sit at the same
table with a beholder and enjoy each other’s company. It’s not called
WIldspace for nothing! Complex and exciting combats featuring hand-crafted custom maps, named rivals and foes to learn to love to hate, and more!
This adventure has yet to begin, and is waiting to have its
Session 0. When 4 players are seated and ready, Session 0 can begin! If
you’re looking to join in fresh and new, and learn the ins and outs of
D&D, this is a great place to start!
The Call to Adventure:
Whether a completely fresh and new adventurer, or a veteran of
D&D for many years, Spelljammer Academy and Light of Xaryxis is
catered to all parties and players. If you really want to learn the
basics of D&D, find it easily here where you’ll be guided every step
of the way, learning not only the standard fair, but also the
complexities of Spelljamming! If you’ve played before, be welcomed as
well, for Spelljammer includes all sorts of alien politics, combats, and
perils to see in a brand new light.
What You Will Need:
When signing on for this adventure, you’ll gain access to a
customized Discord where you’ll be granted access to art, fellow
adventurers, and more! Access to Discord, a functioning microphone, and
access to the website known as roll20.net are expected to be able to
play, and Discord and roll20 are free services!
What You Receive:
Using roll20 exclusively for my DM’ing needs, you’ll have access to
almost every sourcebook needed to fully customize your character! From
the website of roll20 you’ll be able to use the Charactermancer and
create a character from scratch, following simple step by step prompts.
If you’re new to the game or the system, I’ll run you through the whole
process, so no need to worry!
What To Create:
Adventurers will begin this adventure at level 1, but if you’re
joining us later on, you’ll make a character fitting of the level of the
rest of the party: no adventurers left behind! Expect point buy, or
standard array, for stat distribution, and basic equipment to start.
Space has all sorts of rewards for those who seek it, so join in with a
space-faring swashbuckler’s mentality!
Villainous adventurers are not recommended, as the Flow requires
teamwork and strength of compassion and will, though expect grey areas
as morals and goals are questioned throughout the adventure.
What To Expect:
New or an experienced player, this adventure will come with guides
and help from your DM in every facet. Starting right from Spelljammer
Academy, you’ll feel yourself learning D&D as well as nuanced
gameplay within the first session. Ever wanted to see what lies above and beyond the stars, and what
true, uncontrolled freedom feels? To know that any light you see can be
your home, as long as you’ve the strength to get there? Welcome aboard! Want to feel your actions have impact and weight? Every word, every
movement can change the course of the adventure for better or worse; if
you want to feel the weight of heroism and exploration, you’ll find it
here! Teamwork makes the dream work, and you’ll be hard pressed to find it
better than when a giant space crab is bearing down upon you. Join your
comrades in arms to save your homeland from total destruction!
Notes From the GM:
This adventure is expected to be a very long excursion, as most of
what’s in the adventure I love to expand upon in almost every way.
Dozens of new NPCs, customized maps, and set pieces pulled from other
adventures to enhance this one make it all one very lengthy story. If
you want your DM to obsess over the finer points to enhance your play,
this is a great place to start.
Your DM is available typically between the hours of 12:00 PM to 8:00
PM PST, and your enjoyment is paramount above all things. Reach out if
