Player Directory: More search functionality

When searching players in the Player Directory, just searching by their preferred game is just not enough. The number of players on roll20 is getting ever more staggering and going through many of those profiles takes a long time, especially as many of them are nigh empty. I propose more searching should be available: Search by Player name. It is surprisingly hard to re-find another player on roll20 if your short "lately played with" list does not include them and the old campaign you played in was deleted to make more space. As roll20 ages, this will be an increasing problem. Search by Achievement. Allow me to search only for Player with X hours under their belt and/or who has actually prepared their profile. Search by Supporter/Mentor status. Wouldn't this also be an added value to subscribers? Search by free keywords in the Bio. This would be very useful for finding people with special interests or play styles not covered by any hard-coded tag. As an aside, I also think that a Player's profile should link to any eventual LFG pages they have created. . Griatch

I like all those suggestions well enough, especially the "aside" to list the person's LFG ads, if any are active.
We cannot even do a name search. When trying to tell a friend in real life how to reach me in roll20, it absolutely is useless to give my roll20 handle. I'd love to see what kind of games a potential GM is running before signing up with them. Couldn't there be a GM's setting that allows others to "see" your different campaigns, even if it's only their LFG page, because they want to keep their forums and journals private?

Quintus , why is it useless? He can PM you if he knows your Roll20 "handle". Go to Private Messages, click on "New Private Message" and then type in the user name you are looking for. Give it a moment to find it then proceed with your private message.

While I agree it would be cool if there was a setting to automatically List & Link your LFG postings, the ability already exists for the GM to write whatever they want on their Directory and Profile page. The GM can already easily link to their LFG's or tell any information they wish to convey, on the free text boxes on their Profile. If they've not done this, it is because they choose not to, not because they can't. Honestly most GM's only have an LFG posting active for a week or 2. Most GM's have zero LFG listings year-round. Simply because, once your slots are filled, the GM usually de-lists the LFG. The exception is GM's (like myself) who keep an "Open Table" invitation open on LFG year-round. Most GM's don't run continually open games, though. A few do.
