How far in advance should I list a game?

I have been listing my games 4 weeks to a month ahead of time. Is that too far? Should I list 2 weeks ahead of time, or one week? MB
As a player if I see a game posted for a month ahead of game time its a yellow flag that it won't happen. A lot of things can happen in that amount of time that could make a game fail before launch.
2 weeks is generally a good spot I feel.
Ya! In this world of selfish instant gratification, on-demand entertainment, electronic games, and swipe left swipe right dating, 4 weeks seems like forever to most people. 2 weeks is long enough. ... The only way I see listing 4 weeks ahead working is maybe listing that you will be running one shots on a holiday, when some people are off work and bored. Even if you check back with everyone 1-2 weeks out, you still have to expect a bunch of people to ghost you without saying anything.
As several above stated already, 1 to 2 weeks before the first session works well but I also recommend bumping your game announcement on the day of the first session so that it "rises to the top." Some people will consider this "bad behavior" but as long as you are not spamming posts -- or shameless bumps -- the intent is honorable: get the word out so people will notice and be encouraged to join your game. Your game announcement should include: A concise description of your game; bonus points for an evocative image; no one likes a "wall of text" A link to your game's listing page; ideally as an embedded link; no one likes to see a long URL The system and, if relevant, (system) version used; D&D 3.5e is very different from D&D 4e, for example The setting (if applicable); some players have deep lore knowledge of some settings and prefer to utilize that The session times including the time zone; you may have players all across the world's time zones so be specific
some of mine are listed 6 months ahead of time. either way, youre not gonna be able to avoid players disappearing lol
