“And at the appointed time we shall rise from our secret places and throw down the towns and cities of the Empire. Our brethren shall pour forth from the forests to slay and burn. Chaos will cover the land and we, the chosen servants, shall be exalted in His eyes. Hail to Tzeench, Changer of the Ways – Njawrr’thakh ‘Lzimbarr Tzeentch!” - Excerpt from The Book of Transmutation The Empire. Perhaps the greatest nation of the Old World, it has stood for two and a half millennia as a bulwark against the threat of Chaos. Down the ages – from the time of legend when Sigmar Heldenhammer ruled, to the peaceful days it now enjoys – the Empire has endured. Within its borders, the Emperor’s armies keep the peace. The Empire stands firm against the enemy without. But what of The Enemy Within? Welcome to the revised and updated Director’s Cut of one of the most highly regarded roleplaying campaigns ever written, the epic Enemy Within campaign , that inspired a generation of gamers. Gather your heroes as you take them from humble beginnings as penniless adventurers to the halls of the great and powerful, where every decision can change the fate of the Empire. This may be one of the greatest, most epic campaigns in the history of TTRPGs. Originally published between 1986 and 1988 by Games Workshop, updated and reissued between 1995 and 1999 by Hogshead Publishing, it has now been republished for the 4th Edition rules of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay as the so called "Director's Cut". We will be using the 4th Edition rules and Campaign for the most part, but I will try to capture some of the gleeful anarchy and fun, often creepy weirdness of the original Warhammer with its roots in Cosmic Horror and the sense of black comedy that made it stand out compared to Dungeons & Dragons and other, more traditional Heroic Fantasy TTRPGs. The Enemy Within is a campaign all role-players should play at least once in their lives! We have finished the first part of the campaign - "The Enemy in Shadows" (formerly known as "Shadows over Bögenhaven" - in which the party stumbled across a conspiracy to summon a greater demon in the merchant city of Bögenhaven. They prevented the summoning, but their investigation alerted them to the presence of further cult activity in the Empire: The Purple Hand and The Red Crown are two secret societies serving the Ruinous Powers and undermining the Empire. One scholar and possibly witch especially - Etelka Herzen - appears to be deeply involved in the activities of these cults. Currently, as part of the second part of the campaign - "Death on the Reik" - the party is travelling up the eponymous river towards Nuln, to confront Mrs. Herzen and stop her evil plans. But the river is long and full of dangers... So don't hesitate, grab your dice and hop onto the River Barge "Berebelli" and help save the Old World! Recently two members of the party had to depart, so now their seats on the river barge are open for new recruits. Whether you are an experienced Grognard or a Newbie interested in exploring the wilds of the Old World, this is your moment to join an epic quest. You will get the chance to create your character (who will be in the third career, to be on the same level as the other party members) in a private one-on-one free session zero with the GM before stepping aboard the "Berebelli" and joining the hunt for Etelka Herzen. Weekly Gameplay, Sundays 10 AM PDT / 1 PM EDT / 6 PM GMT / 7 PM CET, 4h Sessions, Beginner Friendly, LGBTQ+ Friendly, GM with nearly 4 Decades of Roleplaying and Gamemastering Experience, Price: $20 per Session and Player, payable through StartPlaying, free private character creation session for all Questions & Answers.
