The Adventure The adventure begins with your party in the famed city of Baldur's Gate. Refugees from the neighboring rival city of Elturel are flocking to its gates in droves, speaking of a terrible catastrophe that has befallen their pious city. A catastrophe of apocalyptic proportions, they say, but it is hard to separate fact from rumor at this time. The whole city is rife with panic, and the Flaming Fist, the mercenaries who police it, are overstretched. And they have a very special job for you and your fellow adventurers-for-hire... Character Creation Your Character begins at Level 1. You can use Point-Buy or Roll 4d6, Drop Lowest to generate your Ability Scores. Content from all published Wizards of the Coast D&D Books is allowed; Unearthed Arcana, OneDnD Playtests and Homebrew have to be approved by me first, but I tend to allow anything that isn't too "out there" so don't worry. About the GM I have been GM-ing with 5th Edition D&D for 8 years, with a bit of experience in other systems as well. I strive to create an inclusive, friendly atmosphere around the virtual table, one where people feel comfortable roleplaying, asking questions, trying out zany schemes that may or may not result in horrible consequences, you name it. I use the rules, the dice and the content of the adventure book as more of a guideline for how to run the game rather than something to follow to the letter. I find this allows for more immersive gaming, and it also helps accommodate my general approach to GM'ing; the game is an exercise in collaborative storytelling more than a contest between the Players and the GM, and the GM is there to provide the world and manage the players' interactions with it. Whenever I play through an adventure as a GM, I always tend to create custom content such as side-quests, NPC's and so on tailored to your PC's, their backstories and their goals to further flesh out the adventure and make it unique to the Characters you create. I also own the standalone "Sequel" adventure to this one, which can be played afterwards, and which also serves as a sourcebook for this. Game Info Sessions run for 3h30m, or 4h with a break in the middle, depending on the table's preferences. The Game will be run using Roll20 and Discord exclusively. When you get added, I'll give you all the necessary links. We will start with a Session 0 to discuss character backstories, create the PC's, and introduce the initial hooks for this adventure. If you choose not to join the game after session 0, you do not need to pay for that session. Payments for sessions will be collected via PayPal. You can choose to pay for Sessions individually for €10 (or an equivalent in either GBP, USD, AUD, NZD and so on), or to pay in advance for multiple sessions. If you miss a session, you won't need to pay for it. That being said, please be mindful of the fact that consistently/consecutively missing sessions worsens the game experience for your fellow players. Mandatory Disclaimer: This game will require payment to the Game Master at a rate of €10 (or an equivalent in either GBP, USD, AUD, NZD and so on) via PayPal per player per session. Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements. Interested In Joining?
