Intrest check: Fate based Crimson Skies

I am thinking of running a diesel punk based game and got reminded of Crimson skies. If anyone does not know Crimson skies was a setting for a table top game put out by FASA in the late 90's. It is most well known for the video games put out by Microsoft(?) Crimson skies and Crimson skies:High road to vengeance. The setting is an alternate America where the United states fell apart in the late 1920's. its a game of air pirates, zeppelins and a very feel wheeling "pirates of the Caribbean" vibe. There is a pretty decent wiki here. http://crimsonskies.wikia.com/wiki/Crimson_Skies_W... Let me know if there is any intrest.
I have some interest and would be interested in hearing more of what you have in mind. Also, there is a hack for Fate Core and FAE out there. You can find it here . Looking forward to hearing more.
Thanks for the link. I have been tinkering and was mostly pulling idea's from Kriegszeppelin Valkyrie from the fates worlds of fire book. I was thinking of treating planes as pure up extra stated out with the bronze rule. The idea's from the blog are some good ones and Kriegszeppelin Valkyrie's rules for planes are a third option which would work rather well. Right now I am thinking something based out of Free Colorado or Appalachia. Besides whatever ideas and goals players will come up with during character creation, I have a host of 'Lost treasure" tales from the old west to pull from. I also have this idea of a treasure "misplaced" during the disarray of the United states last days.I think the idea of chasing a lost treasure, along with being chased and maybe in a race with other groups sounds fun. And you also have to deal with player based issues and whatever hornet nests the player manage to knock over. Also thanks for the shown intrest.
Dennis and I are in a fate group trying out various settings. We're currently in the middle of a jadepunk set, but are talking about our next option. I don't know for sure if everyone would be on board, but Crimson Skies sounds cool. And we recently lost a couple of players, so.... We generally have a Saturday game every other week. Any interest? I can bring it up on our google+ community if you'd like to step in and run CS.
I am not sure Saturday will work for me as I have a RL game every other Saturday as well, but often late night(This is the off week). Pretty much any other day I am totally open. I had planned to run it and would be happy to give it a go if dates and such can be lined up.
I would absolutely love to play in this game. I love the setting of Crimson Skies and have been looking for a game like this. As long as the game isn't on Wedensday I would be more than happy to play.
Cool, I am open on my days. I'll out some work into this and go ahead and start moving this forward then.
Depending upon frequency and timing (day/time) I'd definitely interested. Seeing as it looks like a weekday game, what time were you thinking of starting and how long a sessions? I'm on the East Coast and have to get early (before 5am) for work. I'm hoping it works out to be able to play.
Right now it depends on Christoper's response. I am East coast myself. I would like 3 or 4 hours and time is flexable for me as well. Six or sevenish PM would likely work best for me as a start time.
Can I join
I'll work on getting a base ad up in a day or so.

Valkyrie is a great setting. Looking through the hack now...would love to play a hollywoodland star or a cajun scoundrel.
I am not using the hack, although it gave me some ideas. IMO the only thing that needed addressed was the planes. Valkyrie handles them as stunts, which to me does not give it enough of a nod. I am going with more of a bronze rule as planes will get a lot of face time so to speak and have always been a big part of Crimson skies.
I'm interested but could not commit to regular play because of my work schedule. However would love to be in a one shot or something of that nature.

Hey Prez, sorry I will not be doing a one shot as i want something on going. Here is what I am doing so far, I have trimmed the planes down to ten aircraft based off fluff that can be easily found in Free Colorado. I used two Crimson skies books "Aircraft of North America" and "behind the crimson Vail" as my sources. Now this does leave out some "Iconic" planes but CS was made to be a war game with factions often controlled by the nations. The ten I selected are common enough for freebooters and i have divided them by refresh cost. Marquette PR-1 Defender Fairchild F4 Bandit, Whittly & Douglas M210 Raven, Hughes P21-J MKIII Devastato, Curtiss-wright P2-Warhawk, Curtiss-wright J2 Fury,Bell Valiant MKII,Chance-Vought Skewer, Fairchild F6II Brigade and the TNCA F-3 Aguila I should have the hack done in a day or so. At that point I'll put up the ad.
Sounds good, I'll have to dig out my books and go over the background for Free Colorado and the vicinity. As for the planes, some of my favorites are in that list; the Devastator, Raven, Fury, and Valiant were some of my favorites from the board game. Out of curiosity were thinking weekly or bi-weekly? Just trying to get a feel for what you are thinking.
I was thinking weekly, but I could run bi-weekly if that was what most of the players would rather have. I'll also post up what little fluff their is on free Colorado and will have links to some rather good CS sights with the setting fluff as well. The books are hard to find at times and not available though PDF and often light on fluff anyhow. There were two I have never been able to hunt down IRL for instance. Actually here are some links. Here is the old official site with lots of info. Saved and mirrored by the folks at montanaraiders here is a decent enough google map of crimson skies America.
Well, I'd only be able to do every other week, but don't let me hold back the game if you have enough to run weekly. Seems like there is a fair amount of interest and it may generate more as you get things posted. In terms of Colorado as a setting, did you see the party as a group of smugglers running booze or as a militia fighting off incursions from other nations? Just trying to get a feel for what you are thinking.
Free Colorado State is more or less the Tortuga of crimson skies. Its Pirate haven 101 as the "government" does not care what you do outside of the state. So I figed the players would be pirates and freebooters.
Here is my hack Although it looks like it something is missing between the Defender and the bandit pages, this Is not the case. Nothing missing I just screwed up my background image is all :)
I have placed an ad up here
Still looking for at lest one more player if anyone is intrested. The games will be played on Tuesdays at 8 PM EST
Bump for awesome setting.
