Hey all, I'm putting together a Gundam/Halo themed game (no its not merging the 2 universes together, but it'll be people in and out of mobile suits and power armor. You might see elements of both franchises like Mobile Suits/Gundams, ODSTs, ect. Anyway this is my 1st time running this system but I have been GMing for 25ish years and think the system looks pretty cool. No experience with the system is required. The setting will be in a solar system that is facing an invasion (you'll see it start and hopefully you'll end it too) and your 1st goal will be to survive on the capital planet in the capital city of that Solar System eventually expanding outward. Will you become a hero of the planet and lead the resistance against the invaders or will you just fight to survive? The link to the game is at the bottom of the post. Basic setting of the universe. The Solar System isn't made yet as I want to make it with player input. The year is 2342 and Humanity has spread across the stars. The Foundation Empire and its protected independent colonies spans 300 planets and a few thousand space based colonies/facilities. Faster than light travel was obtained in the late 21st century after humanity united under the Foundation Empire when the Earth was invaded by an unknown species. Very little technology was recovered and most of the alien invaders were robotic drones. If any alien bodies were recovered it was covered up by the Foundation Empire. After the invasion was stopped by the Supreme Commander he established the Foundation Empire with himself as the Emperor. He was an immortal that had lived long before recorded history, rumors are still whispered that be is from Atlantis, Lemuria or an even more ancient civilization lost to time. While those are rumors what is true is that he developed the technologies that fought off the invaders and unified the survivors of Earth into a one world government that focuses on its people and providing a livable standard of living across the board and poverty is a thing of the ancient past today. The government is tied to councils that are elected by the people. As a example the Sol System has 4 inhabited planets Earth, Mars, Venus and Europa as well as 2 Space Colony groups (each group has 20 Space Colonies). Earth has 6 local councils based of the continents of the planet, the North America, South American, European, Asian, African and Oceania local councils. Mars has 4 local councils, Venus has 4 as well, and Europa has two. Each local council provides the service needs of the local people via logistical oversight, basic maintenance and basic needs for the people. The Solar/sector Councils are responsible for overseeing the larger needs for their local councils that report to them and is where the backbone of tasks are handled and completed providing the economic and trade relations as well as law and order. The next and final council is the High Council also called the Grand Council which oversees the Empire as a whole with the Emperor sitting at the head of the council. While the Emperor doesn't have a vote he is seen as the guide for humanity and when he speaks it is treated almost as law as many consider the reason why they are able to live as comfortably and free from hate is due to him. Freedom of expression is one of the most cherished freedoms in the Empire. Gone are the days of people being able to force their beliefs onto someone else. While you are free to think and speak that someone is living "immorally" its a high crime to take to use of force or any kind of abuse to force someone into your belief structure. However there are still groups that work behind the scenes to push hateful agendas, but there are safety measures to prevent these kinds of acts without punishment. Everything is not perfect in the Empire as there are a few factions struggling for power. The Foundationlists: They strive to maintain the high standard of honor and military service of the Empire while maintaining the core values of the Freedom of choice for the citizens. The Futurists: They strive to change things toward profits and further technological development by outsourcing Federalized sectors like healthcare, military production, prisons, and full food production. The government helps oversee food production to ensure health standards but leaves it open to private entities/companies for capitalistic profit but manages the prices to ensure affordability. This is true for most Federalized programs and the Futurists argue that this actually restricts and lessons the yields of these sectors and the restrictions were put in place in more "barbaric" times that humanity has left in the past, but fortunately the Emperor disagrees and says this will lead to profit focus instead of citizen focus. However, the faction is growing faster than excepted. The Moderates: They strive to maintain a balance between the Foundationlists and Futurists, but they do see value in both sides as some of the older laws and restrictions do need updating from time to time. There is a growing Transhumanist and Human purity movement where Transhumanists believe that humanity is meant to evolve through cybernetics, genetic engineering, and psionic advancement were as the human purists believe that this is not only reckless but dangerous as it is throwing HUMAN unity into question as they may "evolve" into something no longer human.
