S083_Thanks-Killing Recap: November 22, 2018 Thursday Thanksgiving Recap:
2:30PM
(KS) 3:30PM (NY) The
team regroups at the front of the house, with the Cizko family being completely
unaware of the threat, just in time for a series of explosions to rock the
house. The manor is ablaze in four sections of the house. Kismet wonders if
they were bombs planted earlier or did the pyrokinetic Soulfire start the fires
as PSI retreated? Resume:
Kismet
runs to the care taker’s shack and has the water sprinklers turned on. She and
the rest of the Brigade, with the help of the Cizko family and their staff, use
hand fire extinguishers to battle the fire. When
the flames are brought under control Kismet goes to the dismantled van and does
an object reading on it. The vision she receives is of three men, plus one to
act as a driver, load the chest sized device on to the van. The
team is still intent to learn what the check sized device does but there is
time for that later. Kismet
asks the kitchen staff to prepare some box lunches for the team so they can eat
while they hunt the PSI guys. Big Tuna takes three of them. On
a wall behind the men she sees a sign that reads Busche Farms. Finding
the farm on a map they check the tracer Revenant put on Brain Drains van. The
two locations match! Doing
a little research they learn that Busche farms is not a active farm. It was
once but not anymore. The family now rents it out as a wedding venue, paint
ball field, business retreat, or what have you. They
send Revenant to go scout the property and report back what kind of resistance
the PSI guys might offer. The
farm has several cars parked there. 30 to 40 sedans, the four mini-buses, and three
of the remaining vans that were used at the Cizko house. Looking
in to one of the farm buildings he sees a large number of men changing from their
Walmart obtained camouflage clothes getting back into regular civilian wear.
The rifles are being put in bags or dismantled into carrying cases. They do
keep hand guns on their persons. It seems they are preparing to leave the farm.
In
another house he finds another twelve men who are still in their gear watching
portable security cameras. On the cameras he will see three other groups of
men. Two hiding along the road with RPGs and the third at the point where the
farm service road meets the country road that serves this farm (and other
properties along its length). Moving
to the next house he finds another group of men who have remained in their gear
waiting for deployment if anyone breeches the parameter Revenant will hear them
talking about the lack of bonuses for this job because they abandoned the prize
without even trying. One
of this colleagues points out that Kaitlyn Jones is a member of the Cizko family.
After getting dumb silence he continues, Kaitlyn Jones is Kismet of the Brooklyn
Brigade. Brain Drain did not want to get PSI involved in a fight with a team of
super heroes. The
first guy continues to complain, we have supers too, leading the second guy to
thrust a rifle in his arms and tells him he is free to attack the ream of heroes
all by himself if he is so inclined. Guy one agrees that maybe abandoning the
goal wasn’t such a bad idea after all. Revenant
then moves on to the last building. This
one has Brain Drain, Soul Fire, The Inquisitor, Trace, Edward Cummings, and
Deuce in a conversation. Brain Drain is telling them that Simon said for them
to come to Chicago. Soul Fire wants to kill something. Brain
Drain tells the gathered villains that Simon says for them to come to Chicago so
that is what they are going to do. The other voice a desire to go after the Brigade
but Brain Drain tells them that Simon has something in planned for them and the
matter is closed. While
eavesdropping Revenant feels a hand on his shoulder. He tries to flip the
person who is attached to that hand but they are insubstantial. That did not
prevent the ghostly Deuce’s Shadow from being able to attack him! With
Revenant being discovered the time for stealth and recon are at an end. The
rest of the heroes have to wait for Network to be able to get them into
Cyberspace and bring them back out of it in the farmhouse. Unfortunately
Revenant is successfully mind controlled to surrender even as the rest of the
time arrives. The
PSI team was moderate to strong on offense but (except for Brain Drain) weak on
defense. Trace was taken without a shot fired at or by him. Deuce pulled a gun
on Big Tuna and Network sent her to the Phantom Zone but lacks a clear way of
bringing her back. Paladin seems unconcerned about this detail when he is made aware
of it. After
being hit by Big Tuna Deuce’s Shadow breaks down into wisps of smoke that
encircle his arm. After
the group’s leadership is defeated the soldiers are cowed and will surrender so
they face lesser charges. Paladin contacts PRIMUS to take custody of the super
villains in the farm house (Brain Drain, Soul Fire, Inquisitor, Trace, and Edward
Cummings). Local police will take the normal soldiers into custody. Afterward
the group returns to their Thanksgiving plans. Paladin, Network, and Big Tuna, along
with Cherry Darling go to the base for the dinner that Preston prepared for
them.( Turkey
Roulades with Sourdough Pancetta Stuffing and Gravy, Cream Cheese Herb
Biscuits, Easy Root Vegetable Gratin, Big Green Winter Salad with Lemon Vinaigrette
and Sweet-and-Sour Onions. For dessert he will make Braided Cranberry-Orange
Pie, Brown Butter Apple Pie, German Chocolate Pie, and Peanut-Salted Caramel
Slab Pie). Kismet
stays with her family but will be taking a flight home Saturday afternoon after
the cleanup from a heavy winter storm is taken care of. Revenant
goes to his mom’s house for a much delayed dinner. Mom has another guest for
dinner, a lovely young lady named Amy Kwitny. Amy is a realtor for Castle
Reality and met mom (Ellie) when she was trying to buy her modest 2 bedroom 1
bath house in Queens. Ellie
refused to sell but the women became fast friends. Amy
has introduced Ellie to a more physically fit lifestyle. Mom (Ellie) has
converted her basement into a home gym and lifts weights that are a match for what
Tyler works out with. She
is slightly embarrassed as she tells Tyler that Ellie is convinced that she and
Tyler were made for each other. Amy doesn’t think either of them will escape
dinner unless they can tell Ellie that Tyler has asked her out. They
make plans to go out for coffee to get to know each other better. Mom’s
dinner is traditional fare. The
