[D&D5E] Inquiry - Has/Will Nested Roll Queries become fixed? (HTML Entity Replacement-Wise)

Looking at the very bottom part of the <a href="https://wiki.roll20.net/Nesting" rel="nofollow">https://wiki.roll20.net/Nesting</a> - it says that come july of 2021, nested queries would be improved on and no longer require HTML entity replacements. This seems to be untrue as of 2024, but I was wondering, is this still a thing that is planned to happen? The permalink ( Now on Dev Server: Roll Query Improvements! July 20th, 2021) in that section also leads to nothing for me, what happened?

This is a good question and there is some history here that does not make the roll20 devs look good. They initially tested a fix and it worked sometimes, but had a bug. I was one of those who reported the bug. Then they ignored the bug reports - completely ignored them - and pushed the update live in an unready state. Then, very predictably, lots of people encountered the bug and found their attempts to create macros fail, so the devs withdrew it claiming it was pending a fix. That fix has never materialised. It's baffling to me that they were so close to fixing this long-standing issue and then, apparently, gave up on it and apparently tried to pretend it never happened.
Hm, that is unfortunate. I wonder why they would do so when simply saying that things didn't go as planned would have gone over better. Surely it is possible to fix, I hope they try and fix it again and take into account the bug reports, and not hide any issues along the way
