[LFP - 3/6 SEATS AVAILABLE] [D&D 5e] [$10.00 per Session] [18+] [FRIDAYS @ 20:45pm EST] CURSE of STRAHD | Gothic Horror Campaign in the Dread Realms of Ravenloft - First Session FREE for Players New to Campaign

Under raging storm clouds, a lone figure stands silhouetted against the ancient walls of Castle Ravenloft. The vampire Count Strahd von Zarovich stares down a sheer cliff at the village below. A cold, bitter wind spins dead leaves about him, billowing his cape in the darkness. Lightning splits the clouds overhead, casting stark white light across him. Strahd turns to the sky, revealing the angular muscles of his face and hands. He has a look of power—and of madness. His once handsome face is contorted by a tragedy darker than the night itself. Rumbling thunder pounds the castle spires. The wind’s howling increases as Strahd turns his gaze back to the village. Far below, yet not beyond his ken, a party of adventurers has just entered his domain. Strahd’s face forms a twisted smile as his dark plan unfolds. He knew they were coming, and he knows why they have come—all according to his plan. He, the master of Ravenloft, will attend to them. Another lightning flash rips through the darkness, its thunder echoing through the castle’s towers. But Strahd is gone. Only the howling of the wind—or perhaps a lone wolf—fills the midnight air. The master of Ravenloft is having guests for dinner. And you are invited. Adventurers are mysteriously drawn to the realm of Barovia which is surrounded by deadly fog and ruled by the vampire wizard Strahd von Zarovich. This gothic horror adventure takes the players on a course through Barovia that culminates with a vampire hunt inside Castle Ravenloft. Games are scheduled WEEKLY for FRIDAYS at 20:45 PM overnight to SATURDAYS at around 00:45 AM EST. We communicate through Discord. The first session is FREE for players new to the campaign. This game will require payment to the Game Master at a rate of $10.00 per session via StartPlaying.games. "It was a dark and stormy night in a humble roadside tavern in the Silver Marches, when a dashing stranger emerged from the storm - seemingly out of nowhere - to present some travelling sell-swords - Logan, a knight-captain of the Waterdhavian Watch, and Haydiddle, a Tabaxi confidence man with an opportunity to rescue a village from a growing darkness. " "Lured by the plight of a local damsel, and promises of the beleaguered community's wealth, the companions with their henchdwarf Brodek, agreed to seek out the Village of Barovia and see what help they could lend." "The party followed the Old Svalich Road to massive gates, weatherworn to the point the flanking statues heads had come off. The rusted iron gates opened at their approach. As they neared, a thick fog emerged from the forests to envelope the gang. It pressed at their backs as they entered the realm of Barovia, and the iron gates slammed shuts after they passed." "The Svalich Wood on either side of the road were silent and lifeless and gray and pressed in on the troupe seemingly from all sides. Detecting the stench of death in the air, the group encountered a wandering Shadar'Kai elf named Siwal." "The quartet came into conflict with a pack of wolves led by a bear-sized direwolf. After driving off the pack, the group made their way to the village - a dreary and lifeless collection of dilapidated buildings. Curiousity led them into combat with a gaggle of the walking dead in one of the ruined homes." "Now they stand in the center of the Village of Barovia, a recently constructed gallows nearby, with four empty nooses." Session 3 Recap - "The eerie grayness of the Barovian Mists remained throughout the morning and into the afternoon, turning the sun overhead into a pale blind eye. Together with the beleagured Morninglord priest, FATHER DONAVICH, LOGAN, SIWAL and LYLE worked toward resolving their current ordeal. Back at the Burgomeister's Manor, ISMARK INDIROVICH and his sister IREENA watched over the corpse of their father KOLYAN. ISMARK had beseeched the party to help them arrange a burial. "FATHER DONAVICH had agreed to put aside his issues with ISMARK if the party would assist in helping him with his son DORU. DORU, the party learned, had participated in a poorly planned infiltration of CASTLE RAVENLOFT and was returned to him corrupted - the spawn of the Vampyr." "The priest collected what tomes he could, but after study, the monk and the paladin were unable to glean any way to cure vampirism. When this was revealed to the priest, he once again fell into despair and the screaming from the church undercroft did not relent." "Determined to not let a stubborn priest dissuade his course, LOGAN turned resolved to perform the ceremony himself, but was missing the powdered silver necessary for the ritual. It landed on LYLE who bartered with a trio of VISTANI women, ALENKA, MIRABEL and SORVIA for the necessary spell component. He left the BLOOD of the VINE slightly poorer, but holding the powdered silver and a new sword in tow - a grim-looking fighter in matching armor calling himself LONGINUS." "The quartet returned to the Manor to plan their next steps. While SIWAL and IREENA discussed the recent attacks, it was revealed that she herself was sporting wounds signifying a vampire feeding. LOGAN asserted she was not a vampire herself - on account of still being alive - but now a heavy air of suspicion hanged in the air, and LOGAN seemed distracted shortly after." "Before the interrogation could continue a knock was heard art the door. A finely dressed gentleman holding the hand of a young girl ceaselessly rapped at the door asking if they were at the right address for the feat. Before the party knew what was happening a gaggle of ghouls began to lay siege to the manor, intent on devouring the corpse of the deceased burgomeister." "The battle was brief, but violent, and the mad look in the eyes of the feasters - the hungry dead sent here - horrified all those who beheld them. As the last of the steel splattered black ichor on the walls of this once happy home, our wayward heroes are breathing hard, adrenaline and terror at war in their minds - madness the only victor..."
