Hello, I'm interested in starting a 5e campaign. Everyone is
welcome, I'm interested in playing BI-WEEKLY starting in a couple days, Mondays, 9pm EST.
It's important you can make the time listed. I understand real life, but
if you begin regularly missing sessions (more than once in an eight
week period, even with an amazing excuse) I will absolutely remove you,
and I cancelled my previous game because of this reason.I want to have a
group of 5 or 6 well rounded characters so we can drop characters and
still be effective, even if that means when everyone shows up its a
little crowded. I have run a game before on Roll 20 in Forgotten
Realms and after the module I plan on using to get started, I plan on
tying it into my old campaign which takes place in Cormyr. I am
putting the campaign starting Monday but the actual game won't start
until the next week. The first session will generally be getting things
situated regarding character creation questions, and putting the party
together and letting people meet each other. It would be great if a
couple of you knew each other, but I certainly won't require it. Finally...I'm
going to be starting this campaign with the Mines of Phandelver. If
you've played that module before please be up front with me, I'll
probably still let you join. If you've DMed it or have bought it and
read it, please don't apply. Facts, TLDR version
1) Game system is Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition, Forgotten Realms setting.
2) 6 players to start as a buffer.
3) Roll20 is our virtual tabletop,
voice chat is mandatory barring the occasional RL issue
4) Level 1 start, max gold, 30 point buy or 4d6 drop low roll, you can't switch once you roll, you suck it up.
6) Hitpoints will be max at 1 st
level and either rolled live in game or taken at half hit dice for
free.
7) No evil alignments, not that I think alignment matters much, but I don't characters murdering each other.
8) Backgrounds will be discussed
either via email or at our first test session. Some thought is
required, though no written essays are needed.
9) 55-60% hack and slash, 45%
roleplay, maybe 5% puzzle solving. Political intrigue and roleplay
will be a strong theme as well as killing things . THIS IS AFTER THE MODULE. The module is what it is. 10) Contact me at jonsimo@aol.com . Skype is synch3r
Thanks for reading, here’s the
introduction.
A Forgotten Realms Campaign
- Cormyr 1489 DR
You begin in a caravan on your way to the
fortified village of
Dhedluk in the middle of the King’s Forest.
The King’s Forest is
very much a traditional high fantasy forest
with nonexistent
undergrowth, ancient trees, and a tall
canopy. Cormyr, after many
years of imperial expansion, is in turmoil.
King Foril, ruler of Cormyr, died less than six months ago, leaving
Crown Prince Irvel on the throne, his adventuring past and bold nature
mean conflict in the court. Sensing
weakness, other forces come to try to exert a
larger influence on the
stalwart Kingdom. Erzoured Obarskyr, Irvel's
cousin, is widely rumored to be angling for the throne, amongst other
tales of misdeeds. Irvel's crowning comes later this later this year.
The collapse of the Kingdom of Netheril in the Anauroch has created
chaos in the west. Scattered remnants have
been reforming in the wilderness, and
mischief is becoming more common in the High Forest. Dhedluk is a small
fortified logging
village, and center waypoint on the forest
trail between Eveningstar,
Waymoot, and Immersea. Dhedluk is also a
retirement town of the
nobility and royal guard of Cormyr. What
you have been up to until now is your business, but an old acquaintance
has sent you the following note. Either Gundren Rockseer, a cranky
dwarven businessman or Sildar Hallwinter, a female adventuring warrior
with a kind heart. You take the next caravan going north from Suzail.
My friend, Events move apace
in Dhedluk, I believe I've found something you need to know. Please, I
need your help, I am not sure in which other direction I can turn. Sildar Hallwinter Hey, Get your arse to Dhedluk or I'll knock you on your head next time I see you. It won't be pretty. Gundren Rockseer.
