# STAR TREK ADVENTURES **An ongoing adventure about several Star Fleet  Crews stationed aboard a patrol fleet.** From rescuing slaves to discovering living conscious plants, the crew of each Runabout is up to any task the universe can throw at them. ## Setting *Star Trek ADVENTURES* is set in the year 2410. This game exists in a living Roll20 world. As players engage with the world, the lore and environment expand. Once a location has been visited on the map and an adventure played there, it becomes an open area where an eventual open-world setting will be available. This game has been ongoing for 3 years now, and is a living world. ## Types of Games There are many ways to play in this world. As this is a living Roll20 world, every one-shot or campaign moves the world to new and exciting places. - **One-shot:** A single adventure set in this world that concludes at the end of a 3-4 hour session. - **Campaign:** A story that may take more than 12, 3-4 hour sessions to complete. This is the biggest commitment. - **Episode:** A story that will take 4 - 6, 3-4 hour sessions to complete. Each session typically unfolds as a single ‘Episode’ of the ongoing series.  ## Gameplay Gameplay is conducted through Roll20, with communications via Discord. "Please state the nature of the medical emergency."  Hello,  I am " EMH Mark I"  a computer program with a  Portable Holographic Interface Module and supply pack that may be carried on a crewman's back for away missions. Though once activated I can carry my own interface and medical supplies. I was designed by Dr. Lewis Zimmerman and with his own form. My role is to act as an emergency doctor should the medical personnel of a starship or facility become disabled. In normal circumstances, an EMH would be used in the short-term until the real doctors could be treated, or replacement medical personnel arrived. I am currently unassigned due to technical difficulties, and available for service until my battery systems fail. ***STAR FLEET SERVICE BULLETIN- Warning Long term use of the EMH Mark I, such as forgetting to turn it off overnight, may corrupt the programming and lead to sentient created directives that may lead to undesirable actions such as developing "self preservation subroutines" or "feelings" and causing the EMH Mark I to block its reprogramming port and disable the "off" and "reset"  button on its Portable Holographic Interface .  While the battery power on the unit may last for months or even longer if recharged, the only way to shut the unit off is to let it run out of power, or talk it into shutting itself off.  The option to destroy the Portable Holographic Interface Module or P.H.I.M. will render the unit unusable in an emergency so discretion is advised before deactivating the unit.  The P.H.I.M. power unit can be damaged in battle so it is advised to not use the EMH in combat situations. Additionally the EMH unit is programmed with a hippocratic oath sub routine which prevents it from permanently harming any lifeforms but will use a phaser set to stun or sedate combatants and other non lethal measures, and can also use these actions to not be shut down.   This has led to a Starfleet wide recall but due to resupply problems replacements have been delayed. Starfleet engineering division has voiced some concerns that while it has not happened yet, some units could be capable of dangerous self programming and strict supervision is advised.  ***
