Hi All, I'm writing this exacerbated, frustrated, even miserable. Please bear with me. Back in 2022, I was planning a big DND campaign for my 40th birthday, and wanted to include people who didn't live in the same area I did. So I finally decided on Roll20, I paid for the Plus membership for 6 months, and bought 5 sourcebooks for us to use. I have never been able to get Dynamic Lighting of any kind, or Fog of War of any kind, to work for more than a few minutes, and then something goes wrong and I can no longer use them for whatever reason. I have watched at least 100+hours of online videos to try and figure it out, and have spent over 700 hours apparently "playing" in Roll20, but I've never gotten to play an actual game yet, I was just working on trying to set this all up. It made me depressed and unbelievably anxious. So I quit in February 2023. I'm in a better head space now, so I started trying it again. I downloaded the free first level of the Waterdeep: Dungeon of the Mad Mage to use. But again, after I start trying to play a bit of the campaign, the Fog of War was working well a few minutes, then using same commands and techniques, it stops working. Same with Dynamic Lighting. I'm just curious if there is some way that someone who is experienced in Fog of War/Dynamic Lighting could hope on the game with me, and take about 15 mins to walk me through whatever it is that I'm doing wrong? I just want either Fog of War to work, or Dynamic Lighting to work. I've read forums and comments about tons of people using them both together, but at this point with as much money as I've sunken into this platform, if I can get one to work consistently then I'll be happy. So if you have it in your heart to help me out, please reach out to me and let me know, and if it's easier to invite you to the current game I'm trying to do then we'll do that, or whatever is best for you.
